Back up to 50 mythril... do I blow it on the fire banner hoping for the 1 chain I need, on the VI banner with the AOSBs in the hopes of beating the torment, or save for something else?

I tried both ice magicites but without a chain my damage output is just too pathetic... even when I was able to get max imperil on Mateus. So I guess I'm just putting these aside until I manage to get a fire chain or an Awakening soul break...

Same here but with her en-water LMR. I do like Rydia but I just finished the water-weak magicite and I have no mythril to draw anyway.

Have you ever forgotten a pretty good relic you had? I was looking at my inventory and I totally forgot I had Mustadio's USB and that it's actually pretty good (fire imperil and machinist speed cycle). Fire imperil is kinda needed against Mateus I think (and doubly needed since I don't have a fire chain).

Anyone know when the next torment is? I need to decide if I'm going to wait for the 6* machinist fire ability or hone the 5* one.

Yeah, those banners are okay but not that exciting too many 6* dupes in the wrong places. The fire one is the best one, but I'm at a point where I don't need more fire characters, I just need a chain and then maybe AOSBs for the ones I already have. So if I did get Squall or Vincent USBs they wouldn't be much of an upgrade over running Locke/Sabin/Ignis or Vivi/Terra/Papalymo.

But I'm totally out of mythril anyway so it's 100 gem pulls only for me.

Whew, Belias down. I tried a party with Minfilia where the plan was to use her USB buff initially, MBD to mitigate damage, use her SSB for last stand, and then use finally use her BSB for its dispel command. But in the end I didn't have enough SB for the BSB (I had to refresh her USB first) and ended up getting barely killed.

So I tried a good old fashioned 2 healer build and it worked. Eiko's healing USB gave the initial haste and last stand, then she used bard protectga and Mage's Hymn to buff the party, while Elarra used Lunar Leviathan for some SB and supplemental damage, and Allegro con Moto to make everyone go fast. Now just need to see if I can repeat it 3 more times.

I'm kinda wondering if even the USB lucky is worth it at this point. There are a lot of USBs and a lot are dupes or characters I don't have a use for.

Nice draw @SSJSephirothGokuX123 ! I got Refia's USB, which isn't quite as good but still a pretty decent draw.

I'm basically stalled out on Magicite, it's kind of lost its appeal for me to struggle through it. Unless I manage to 100 gem the water magic chain tomorrow I might have to end up putting it off until the 4th anniversary.

I just got Gogo (V) BSB on the daily draw. This... actually seems like a pretty useful burst? It's my first +water rod, and he can mimic my other casters' 6* spells for free? I think I need to try him in my Belias team.

I still haven't managed to kill Belias yet :/ I can't fit in enough mitigation and buffing at the same time, since I have no +water magic weapons and don't have Strago's chain, I need to carry a bard song to boost my magic. And that's on top of Fabula Raider to get haste and give me one magic boost.

My ice teams seem stronger than my fire teams, since I have 2 ice chains (Rinoa and Laguna) and no fire chains. Maybe I'll get lucky in the ROP today and tomorrow?? (lol, no)

Sephiroth's pants. I think this one's supposed to actually be good. Not something I really wanted (I don't like Sephiroth) but easily the best draw of the ROP so far.

According the MVP newsletter, the VI event starts on Thursday. I wanted to do a pull on this banner with the 3 AOSBs, but I don't see how I'm going to be able to since I'm at 34 mythril, with 7 more days of ROP and then the USB lucky draw (I'll probably skip the LMR/OSB luckies).

Also there's speculation that the grab bag part of the banner format is being removed (in JP there was a 1% chance of a random 6* for any character on the banner and 1% chance of a random 5*, but it was super unpopular and they canned it after 6 weeks). We'll see what they do instead, if anything... the banners could be even better than they were in JP, or not.

And this is a character without doublecasts or chases (until a FF9 event a week ago in Japan when he finally got a decent USB2)

It teaches you that the best thing to do with Steiner is leave him out of your party, and second best is to attack him with your other characters, so thematically it's great. Sucks as a relic draw tho

I just got Kain's Arcane on the daily draw. I just need to figure out how to fit it in while also juggling his CSB and USB1. Now that I have Elarra I should be able to generate a bit more SB than before thanks to speed, assuming I can stay alive against Famfrit without last stand.

Huh, I finally managed to beat Phoenix and I did it in 29.03, my first sub-30 on a 5* magicite. First I tried subbing out Ramza for Edge and using Eblan Doppelganger instead of Shout2, and using Elarra to boost attack with bard skills. But it turned out that last stand + extra damage from a 4th attacker was less helpful than entrust + instant boostga (instead of needing 5 actions from Elarra to get the same boost).

Then I tried replacing Paine with Edge instead (keeping Ramza) and that actually worked - although I don't *think* last stand actually triggered in the fight so maybe the difference was that I learned how to time my medicas and entrusts better.

I got to 74% on my first attempt on Meltigemini. Definitely one of my better realm teams and there's plenty of room to upgrade (AOSB/USB/Glint/LMR for Zidane, ASB/USB/Glint for Beatrix, or LMR for Quina would all be easy upgrades). I can't really afford to draw on the current banners though (and there's too much stuff I don't like on there) but maybe I'll get lucky in the ROP. Or if I get Zidane's Awakening in the 4th anniversary that would probably do it.

Do you have no idea because there's nothing you want or because you're not sure what you should be going for?

If there's nothing you want then it definitely doesn't hurt to save for 4th anniversary and go nuts there.

If you're not sure what you need then yeah, trying for at least one chain in every element is a good idea. One physical and one magical chain in each element is even better. And Elarra/Aeris healing USBs are great.

I have 11 mythril right now so I'm basically skipping the fest, but I hope to scrape together enough for the realms on parade. Next fest is the big one so I don't feel too bad about skipping these banners.

Also, IX torment dropping this week. My IX team is probably stronger than most of my realms since I have the all-important instant heal USB, plus Vivi's USB, Quina's USB, and fully dived Zidane and Beatrix with BSBs and OSBs. I should at least be able to do 50% on the d??? and maybe more.
