Huzzah I finally got my fourth Manticore! Now I don't have to fight this fucker anymore till I get some powercreep (it's annoying how easy this guy falls apart with a chain and/or Terra's Awakening)



I never mastered him either, I had one good run at 40 seconds and everyone alive but I still lost medals to damage and turns taken, sheesh you'd think they'd be more lenient with how tanky and fast this beast is.

So next on the Mega Man path is... Syldra.

I also accidentally misread that one of you got Fujin and one of you got Marcus. My bad.

I had the most clutch win ever today in this game against Manticore. I only had 1 member left alive through last stand, infected with Sap, had haste removed and her ATB bar wasn't going to make it in time before either sap killed her or Manticore attacked, and I was groaning that I was so close... but then Phoenix swooped in and did 7000 damage and killed Manticore



And I still need two more before the fest so I can level them up during the golden ticket feasts.

Mine was only 1/11 though. Still it's a really good relic, fire boosting whip too (even though only her, Rydia, OK and Quistis will really make much use of it.)

Also I just found out Hilda, Ursula and Relm can equip whips for some reason. Though I guess Relm is kinda the "beastmaster" of FF6.

I got Lulu's unique off the daily today, not great these days but maybe the resistance buff will help someday? (Not against Typon though, all his attacks are piercing.)

Ahhhh I finally beat Manticore! Tried it with Edge for USB0 since it seems like the only other way of getting through the last phase is either two AOSBs or USB0 to counter each icestorm (one of the rare fights where the haste is the most important part of the soul break) Main issue is also running out of hones so I need doublecasts, especially during the times savage mode is broken (for like 2 seconds...)



Almost didn't expect to win that one since I was on my last legs, OK was out of meltdown, Elara didn't have the meter, and I had to bank that magic pixel on a smoldering fire and thankfully the gamble pulled off!

Man this boss is so fucking stupid in the third phase, trying all sorts of strats and the closest I got was Krile spamming imperils, but I can't seem to survive the constant Savage Icestorms that keep removing haste, Elara's ATB bar doesn't fill up in time before he rushes down my team and kills 2-3 members, Last Stand doesn't help either since he's constantly putting sap on my party. Can't damage reflect cheese this guy either since he gets the benefit of going into savage mode before the damage bounces back at him. Grrr.

What's really frustrating is how easy this guy is for the first two phases, the fight is mostly boring before that.

And Phoenix sucks! Even with 6 imperils he still can't break the savage mode.

Oh well, hopefully the RoP will cheer me up...

Gogo doesn't have a legend dive yet so I wouldn't bring him to Belias unless you're really desperate for a mage with water infusion.

Tried Manticore a few times today, and even without a chain I came really close, main issues is hones (I need to r5 meltdown and chain Fiaja) and the fact he goes into savage mode every 4 actions which is BS! He's honestly not even that hard, just tanky as fuck and that dumb savage mode damage reduction lets him stall me out of hones and leaves me a sitting duck. Phoenix being weak and not being able to break savage beyond his first summon sucks too.

Man all of these new Magicite are awful, they weren't kidding when they said they keep getting harder, this game sure has a way of making you feel defeated...

The best I can do is against Typhon, but geez, giving him a Savage mode that reduces damage is fucking cruel. The chain runs out before he starts snorting, assuming Ysayle or Palom aren't dead from 5000+ aoes (I need HP crystal waters for them ASAP) Is there even any ice magic osbs besides Rinoa AOSB?

Looks like I need to beat Mateus in order to break that Savage mode, but no fire chain is a pain.

Not ready for any of this four, the one I might have a shot at is Manticore but fighting a 5* Magicite without a chain is miserable, and his Savage mode reduces damage.

Also I need more crystal water for the fire/ice DPS characters.

Finaaalllly beat Geos! Man this fight really sucks (no pun intended) and is an RNG mess, hate his goddamn savage mode, it boosts his defense way too high and he reactivates it too frequently. Always have to pray that Quetz comes at the right time (and while the chain is still decently high enough so he can break savage mode) And thanks to his stupid auto hit petrify I was forced to bring Tyro for his USB1 but that also opened the problem of running out of hones id I don't get enough doublecasts.



5/6 of the 5* magicite beaten (and since Famfrit is easy anyway I don't need KB right now, my earth mages still suck.) Please, please, please Santa give me a fire chain this Rop!

You have to hit Steiner with a magic ice/fire/lightning attack while he's in his EX mode (and it has to be from an ally) to give him infusion.

And this is a character without doublecasts or chases (until a FF9 event a week ago in Japan when he finally got a decent USB2)

I think I'll skip FF15, I already have some of the best stuff (Prompto chain/USB and Ignis USB) and I have no plans to do the D$$$ torment anytime soon.

Looks like the cutoff date for RoP is the WoFF event, so the new goodies from the last FF14 won't be on there, so I'll skip that as well.

Only 2 core games never made it to Europe, MM6 on NES (mostly because it was a tail ender of the NES) and Star Force 3 (never had a pal release due to low popularity of Star Force in the Western market)

Europe got most of the games America did (besides Japan only stuff like Rock Board or the Wonderswan games) they just never were marketed or sold well there.

Augh I'm close to beating Geos but that stupid petrify gets me everytime! I even made that stupid 6* witch skill solely for this fight but I can't DPS fast enough avoid the petrify or can fit in astra or Unicorn since I need Quetz to break Geos' savage mode, which he goes into way too frequently!

I have Rikku in my Belias team use steal power to overwrite his saber attack buff (+50%!) But any single attack break should overwrite it, Savage hellfire still hurts but at least it becomes survivable.

I have 55 Mythril at the moment (haven't done the FFX events yet though, saving those for Sunday) I should be okay for RoP, most likely won't pull on next fest (although I do really want OK USB3/AOSB...) I'll budget a couple pulls on FF1/11 for the torments but otherwise I'll be saving up for the fourth anniversary.

Not feeling confident on FF9's torment, my synergy used to be ok back in BSB era, I had a BSB for every character except Quina and Marcus. But I haven't had much luck with current stuff, only USBs I have are Kuja and (lol) Steiner, and I don't think Kuja can carry the win mostly by himself.

These next banners aren't really appealing though, don't want Freya or Marcus stuff and Banner 2 has too many Kuja dupes. I'll just hold off till a better FF9 banner shows up.

A wind team would work better than Holy, Zack/Cloud/Vaan/Tyro/Elara.

Zack for chain/ripping blasts and imperils, Cloud for damage/AOSB to get through the last phase ASAP, Vaan for breakdowns and chain building with Dash&Slash if you also have one of his USBs. Tyro for Godwall and use him as an entrustbot or dancer.

Noctis (and non elemental in general) isn't really worth investing since it doesn't get the benefits of most of what the meta revolves around currently (equipment elemental boosts, magicite boosts, infusion, imperils and chains besides realm) Noctis' only niche is spamming his Super to give the party instant casts since he falls behind elemental characters as DPS, even against bosses who resist all elements with gen 2 chains around now.
