There are a few things that caution can do if he really wants to turn over a new leaf.

1. Abandon account and start new. Don't let anyone know that he's caution, until years later. Maybe not even then, with the way people tend to be (grudges and what not)

2. Keep account, but legit change posting style. Start posting neutral topics. Things gaming related, or food related. People might move on, or they might not.

3. Leave permanently. That's it, no extra steps.

At this point, apologies aren't going to do anything, so may as well just skip that part. People are already set in their ways and aren't gonna change their mind about him. At least, not until he puts actual action behind changing. IF, that's what he chooses to do.

Some people will never forgive/forget, some will. I'm a light weight when it comes to holding grudges. All someone has to do is be real with me for a second, and appeal to my human side (intentional and unintentional mistake riddled self) and the idea that I, myself, have done fucked up shit in the past, and managed to get past it. I'm gucci after that. Of course, action behind the words helps too.

It's cheesy as hell, but I believe in second chances. 100 chances, in my case.

My friend is close to his master's right now, and the way he explained it to me was that there's nothing stopping you from just getting a bachelor's and stopping, but you'll be passed over for nearly everyone else.

It's not any "system" that's the problem, it's that so many people went for psych degrees when there was a limited number of jobs to be had, so to distinguish yourself you had to get more education and pretty soon that became the norm.

Meanwhile, we're far from the hitting the upper limits of carpenters (actually trained, skilled carpenters) and engineers, so the minimum training is just fine for getting a job.

The laws linked in the article for Florida and Washington have been in place since 2012 and 2013, respectively. Which leads me to believe that said laws are, again, akin to fire lane and handicap parking laws.
