I've never been able to get past the controls to enjoy this game. For all the hate RE6 got... it killed the tank controls and finally allowed the series to control more like a standard shooter. If a version of RE4 ever does the same maybe I'll like it.

I may not be in the right place, but I figure there's gotta be some developers here. To establish where I am, I'm a junior year software engineering student who's pretty much been coding since I was 12.

There's always existed this stigma that Linux is the developer platform. The reasons listed always include things like "Linux is free!" as well as "no need for a c compiler" and "bash support"

So far, I've been nothing but slowed down every time I try to use Linux for development. What would normally be a simple Visual Studio, Android Studio or Netbeans install turns into this labyrinth of adding repositories, checking off on dependencies, granting individual permissions and command line installers. In there rare cases I find a simple deb or rpm installer, I can 100% guarantee it won't just work across the set of distros I'm told to familiarize myself with (Red Hat, Fedora, openSUSE, CentOS, Mint and Ubuntu) whereas I've been able to use the same DevC++ exe installer on everything from Windows XP to Windows 10... hell, even matching the appropriate RPM to openSUSE(my preferred distro) hasn't consistently guaranteed that AppStream will cooperate long enough for me to install it.

Then there's the "no need for a c compiler". Yeah I can fire up terminal and use gpp or gcc... but if we're being totally honest I hate it. I started early enough to where middle school me was merrily working in Borland where I could create a multi file project and compile with the "Compile and Run" button instead of having to dick around with multi-line compile commands... then more complication if I actually want to run it. Iuno... just seems inferior in every way. Also while this wasn't true back when I started my venture into coding, Windows has had easily-enabled Bash support (with gpp/gcc's stupid ass intact) for years now.

That said, I'm coming into this with the assumption that I'm doing something wrong. I have to be... there's no way that so many people could be sold on this as a developer platform while it's so needlessly convoluted unless I'm inflicting this convolution myself somehow.

I'd actually put Linux on the back burner up until a couple months ago where a prospect employer told me it'd greatly benefit me if I mastered Linux. A two months in and I'm so ready to just go back to Windows that it hurts.

So tell me why I shouldn't. Convince me my life as a developer simply won't be complete without Linux.

Forgive me if any of this has already been said, because I didn't read through the rest of whatever responses came after the first page.

God of War has stats and new equipment... and anyone calling that game a RPG would be called a loon. This debate has gone on for ages... because there is no clear cut definition of what makes a game an RPG. You can find turn-based combat in non-RPG titles, heavy emphasis on growth and statistics, armor and the like in very decisively non-RPG titles... practically every game element we associate with RPGs can be found in a game that's definitely not an RPG.

We can go back and forth seemingly forever (as we have... I know I've personally been participating in these on GameFAQs for over a decade).. but there's one thing that never changes: The most logical point made always seems to revolve around intent... if the director, dev team or whatever intends for their game to be an RPG, it's an RPG.

You're an adult when you truly understand responsibility... thing is, that doesn't just stop at getting out of your mom's place or getting income... you either already have, or definitely will run into loads of apartment dwellers that are decisively not adult-like.

I had to start college late... there was pretty much no "Stay at home with parents" because my mother passed and "home nest" ceased to exist... leaving me in a sink or swim scenario where I rather quickly swam my way into being the highest performing technician in the greater st louis district for a fortune 500. In all that, I found myself a married homeowner with two kids, being both the sole income earner and the only one in college.

A paper I turned in in my previous college, simply titled "Cold Coffee" was a hit in a particular writing class... in "Cold Coffee," I described how I'd regularly want to start my day off with a warm coffee. In younger days, it was all about how nobody better interrupt my coffee because it was my "me" time... but add in a wife who has generalized anxiety, and two children who rely heavily on me... I found myself in a lot of scenarios where I'd have to let my coffee get cold for the sake of operations that had a wider scope than just directly benefitting me. Now everyone gives what they want for the sake of another... but some complain bitterly about it to reveal that they never truly understood that who they are as an individual pales in importance to their effect on the world... you're an adult when the "cold coffee" no longer bothers you.

King's Meal deal (2 sandwiches, fries and a drink) is $3.69 and if I add a 10pc chicken nugget it totals $5.61 (just getting a 10pc chicken nugget combo from McDonalds costs $5.60 round here)... their burgers aren't Dairy Queen good and their fries aren't McDonalds good... but it's about the best balance I've found... for an unbeatable price.

Almost as a practical joke... I bought NBA 2K18 on the Switch.

I was about to say... Im pretty sure Ive had spears launched at me for saying anything bad about Vesperia. Almost everywhere I go theres nothing but praise for its cast, its story, its gameplay... Id have thought that people would universally think Tales of Eternia or Tales of Destiny were the best but nope... Ive seen nothing but love for Vesperia... but if you wanna hear the story from someone who didnt like it... I personally could not stand the entire cast. Karol was annoying as sin, all the female characters had 0-1 personality traits that defined them entirely, Yuri was completely non-evolving and one dimensional, Raven was the total embodiment of what an uncool Ronfar (Lunar 2) would be... and all the dialog was awful. I think I liked Repede just because he didnt talk. The point though... me as someone who didnt get along with Vesperia... Id sooner say Im way in the minority there.
