I'm hoping to move on up and figure out a position I like, but the more I think about it, I'm only in the field because I'm familiar with it. It's not fun and not very rewarding. I work less hours, but I'm still at work 9 hours a day. I try to get 8 hours of sleep. That's already 17 hours of my day occupied by sleeping and working. Including the hour it takes me to get ready for work and driving to and from, that's maybe 18 or 19 hours out of my day, leaving me tired and with only 5 hours left for living. Cooking food, watching a show or two, and maybe a game here and there, just like you. It sucks. My only hopes now are to find a job working 10 hours a day, 4 days a week or winning the lottery and sitting on my ass the rest of my life. 5 days a week at 8 hours worked back in the 1920's, but not anymore. I currently work 8-5 (1 hour unpaid break), Mon-Fri. 40 hours/5 day work weeks are awful. Having more freetime on my work days would be great and would allow me to relax more. At my current work schedule, I spend more time at work than I do at home a day. I could also limit my freetime on work days and just give myself a full 3 days off in a row. 3 days to fully recover and come back to another 4 day work week.
