You are correct. Pit bulls are less aggressive towards humans than most breeds. But that should be seen as a positive and not a negative.

Also banning Pits doesn't decrease bites, it actually increases bites.

http://www.latimes.com/opinion/op-ed/la-oe-dickey-pitbull-ban-20161011-snap-story.html
Denver banned pit bulls in 1989, yet according to data collected by the Coalition for Living Safely With Dogs, the rate of dog-bite-injury hospitalizations in Denver is now significantly higher than that of the surrounding areas, where no bans are in place. The United Kingdom banned pit bulls in 1991, yet serious dog-bite injuries there have also risen, especially in under-resourced areas. Ontario banned pit bulls in 2005, but in Toronto, dog bites are up, not down.

18 million Pit type dogs in the US. 20% of dogs in the US are Pits. How many fatal attacks per year?

Wiki Fatal Dog Attacks in United States reported in 2018

There appears to seven fatal Pit attacks (I'm including mix breeds too.) for the US in 2018. What is 18 million divided by 7 fatal attacks?

We are more likely to be die from suicide, kidney disease, flu / pneumonia, diabetes, Alzheimers, stroke, accidents, chronic lower respiratory diseases, cancer and heart disease than a fatal attack by various animals. (Don't mess with hippos.) All Pit bull attacks, plus all dogs attacks, plus shark attacks, plus all snake attacks, etc. isn't going to break the top 10.

Her political leanings don't matter one damn bit. Respect the stop sign on the school bus it's that simple. Be cautious around the time that buses start dropping off kids. I can't understand why she wouldn't stop.

Alyssa Shepherd, 24, didnt stop her truck when 4 kids crossed the road to get on their school bus, even though the stop arm was lowered, telling drivers not to continue.

Police say seeing their dad walk over and confirm it was his kids laid out on the road was the most heartbreaking thing theyve seen in a while.

I just cant imagine that pain," Slocum said. "I havent seen troopers cry in a long time, but I saw that today. Our heart just breaks for him and his family.

Agreed, bacon is a necessity.

I used to assume that Jews and Muslims loathed pigs because of trichinosis but that wouldn't explain why Christians eat pork. Pork used to be popular in the Middle East but it appears that chicken meat replaced pig meat. Chickens consume less water than pigs to create a pound of meat, so by making consumption of pigs an abomination in the eyes of the Lord, you force water conservation. Christians weren't in a dry climate and could more easily have additional water for various kinds of animal husbandry.

SMARTNEWS Keeping you current
People Ate Pork in the Middle East Until 1,000 B.C.What Changed?
A new study investigates the historical factors leading up to the emergence of pork prohibition

Pigs need a fair amount of water to survive, which makes them poor travel buddies when a family needs to moveand this could be one factor informing their disappearance from the dinner table. But Redding doesnt think thats the primary reason. The blame for the change, his research suggests, can be placed on chickens, which took over porks role as a food source.

Theres good reason an ancient Middle Easterner might pick chickens over pigs. New Historians Adam Steedham Thake explains:

Chickens have several advantages over pigs. First, they are a more efficient source of protein than pigs; chickens require 3,500 litres of water to produce one kilo of meat, pigs require 6,000. Secondly, chickens produce eggs, an important secondary product which pigs do not offer. Third, chickens are much smaller and can thus be consumed within 24 hours; this eliminates the problem of preserving large quantities of meat in a hot climate. Finally, chickens could be used by nomads. While neither chickens nor pigs can be herded in the same way as cattle, chickens are small enough to be transported.

And, Redding argues, it wouldnt make sense to keep both pigs and chickens, since their food and care needs are similar. Under these circumstances, the chicken becomes a major protein resource, he writes, concluding that If the pig had been integral to the subsistence system in the Middle East, it would not have been prohibited by religious edicts.

The term Bible basically means paper book. The Bible isn't a book but a collection of books.

https://www.ancient.eu/Byblos/
Byblos was the ancient Phoenician port city of Gebal (called Byblos by the Greeks) on the coast of the Mediterranean sea in what is, today, Lebanon. According to the historian Durant, Byblos thought itself the oldest of all cities; the god El had founded it at the beginning of time, and to the end of its history it remained the religious capital of Phoenicia." Because papyrus was one of the principal articles in its trade, the Greeks took the name of the city as their word for book - biblos and from their word for books named our Bible - ta biblia - which means 'the books. Byblos is among the cities listed as candidates for the distinction of `oldest city in the world as it has been continuously inhabited for over 7,000 years.

PapyrusForerunner of Paper

MATERIAL to write on was not always as plentiful and as cheap as paper is today, when one can buy a notebook in exchange for some small change. Among the many things used for writing in times past before paper became common were stone, clay, potsherds, metals, wood, bark, leaves, leather, papyrus, vellum (calfskin) and parchment (sheepskin). In particular did the poor of ancient times use potsherds, that is, broken pieces of clay pots, which could be found in any rubbish heap and which had a smooth surface on which to write. Known as ostraca, they are a boon to archaeologists.

Michael didn't lose his temper that one time, he has a bad temper. He threatened to murder a different black guy earlier who was parked illegally in the same parking lot.

CLEARWATER, Fla. -- Weeks before Michael Drejka, 47, shot and killed Markeis McGlockton, 28, over a parking spot, he crossed paths with Richard Kelly.

Kelly, who drives a septic tank, briefly parked his tanker in this handicapped spot outside the Circle A Food Store before running inside this store for a beverage. When he came out, he saw Drejka taking pictures of his vehicle.

"He asked me (if) was I handicapped, and I said, 'Obviously, I'm driving a tanker. I'm not handicapped.' And I asked if was he handicapped and he stated 'No, my mom is,'" Kelly said.

Kelly asked Drejka if his mom was nearby and offered to move his tanker. Thats when he says Drejka became furious.

"He flipped out on me called me every n-word, said he's going to shoot me," Kelly said. "He said he was going to kill me, and he went back to his truck, got something out of his truck and walked back up on me."

Store owner Ali Salous came out and shut down the confrontation.

"I didn't know this was going to happen two months later with another guy. It's really sad," he said.

Salous says Drejka has a history of confrontations in and around his store.

"He told me I can't help it. Every time I do this I get in trouble, and I can't help it. I keep doing it," Salous said.

Kelly said Drejka called his job and left a threatening voice mail on the answering service.

The Ministry of Food sez: Potatoes are fattening
Posted by Andrew on28 December 2005, 1:18 pm

I just finished Bernard Cricks wonderful 1980 biography of George Orwell. Lots of great stuff. Heres something from page 434:

Just before they moved to Mortimer Crescent [in 1942], Eileen [Orwells wife] changed jobs. She now worked in the Minstry of Food preparing recipes and scripts for The Kidchen Front, which the BBC broadcast each morning. These short programmes were prepared in the Ministry because it was a matter of Government policy to urge or restrain the people from eating unrationed foods according to their official estimates, often wrong, of availability. It was the time of the famous Potatoes are Good For You campaign, with its attendant Potato Pie recipes, which was so successful that another campaign had to follow immediately: Potatoes are Fattening.

Crick continues,

Many features of the Ministry of Truth in Nineteen Eighty Four owe as much to Eileens experiences in the Ministry of Food, particularly the snappy slogans, as to Georges in the BBC Far Easter Service. The Orwells never suffered from a shortage of potatoes, for they occasionally went down to Wallington at weekends to their vegetable patch which they kept going without regard to the dialectics of the official line.
