Both are great games. Its been a long time since I've played either game, but I'd give a slight edge to Cross. It doesn't work as a sequel, but it is still an amazing game.

TopicPro Tip: "Nothing is working" is the least helpful thing to send to IT

These kinds of topics are always so much fun.

I work with healthcare IT and get a fair share of vague tickets. "I can't print" is way too vague of a ticket. What department are you in? What computer are you on? What are you trying to print? What printer are you trying to print to?" The sad part is that all tickets first go through the helpdesk and they should first gather relevant information before sending it to one of the application teams. The printing setup within the application is convoluted so we really need to know more so we can make sure the right team(s) get involved.

I use a credit card for 99% of my purchases so cash and coins are rarely needed. If I do get cash and if there is a tip jar or something I'll put the coins in that. Pennies themselves are not needed for anything ever.

In general yes I'd say they are a waste of money. Having a fitbit or something like it to motivate you to walk around can be helpful, but a watch that is just an inferior version of your phone seems pointless.

I played the game for the first time in eons a year or two ago. I only finished about half of the game before I gave up on it. I really liked it when it first came out, but world design just wasn't doing it for me and I got bored.

I had no problems with the second game when I replayed it.

I played the first game for the first time about 6 months ago. I thought it was over-rated and don't intend to play this one anytime soon. I had fun for the 1st third of the game, but for some reason became bored with the second third of the game. The final third was better, but by then I was ready for the game to end.

I recently replayed Jak 1 and 2. The first game had a lot of charm and was a good length, although a couple of the areas were more frustrating than they needed to be. It was a fun simple and game.

I remembered really liking Jak 2 when I played it the first time. But my opinion greatly changed this time and I gave up on it half way through. The controls were bad, had way too much backtracking (why does the next level always have to be far away?) and frustrating difficulty spikes.

Disgaea Hour of Darkness. Was one of my favorite games when it came out. One of my first exposures to that type of game and I loved the characters.

Also by far the most time I ever put into grinding to do all the extra post game stuff. I've never come close to repeating that much grinding lol.

There's no hub stuff anymore so it feels even less ambitious.

the hubs were really small, boring, and easily breakable due to ridiculous physics and bad programming
they only served as areas for cutscenes to take place, which honestly wasn't necessary, as shown by sa2
sa2's story is much better paced due to the level-cutscene-level flow without any hub world shit to get in the way
omitting an unimportant feature does not make a game less ambitious, it makes the game more concise and allows the devs to focus on more important things

your post was so wrong that it got me to actually defend sa2

I'm going to agree with this...well...mostly. I love SA2, but can't stand SA1 because of the hub world. Levels are what make Sonic games fun, not some boring area that is inbetween levels.

I played the game for the first time a few years ago. I don't remember all that much but I do remember liking the game enough to finish it!

I seem to recall not always knowing what to do next being a little annoying in the cities...and then also a higher than appreciated encounter rate. But then again I'm also less patient now than I was as a kid.

I get wanting to protect children and punish offenders...but the reality is this...it would destroy the church, and the church would lose all credibility and nobody would confess anything anymore. We shouldn't cash that in just to arrest a few people before people stop confessing altogether.

What's the downside?

How about this...what's the downside to having created the confessional seal in the first place? If we're going to destroy it, then we need an argument as to how it's caused more people to have been abused than if it had never been created.

I wonder how many of those that confessed to child abuse went on and continued to abuse children.

Kind of like how they would have continued to abuse children had they not confessed?

But they could have been stopped.

But they wouldn't have confessed at all if the seal didn't exist.
It's zero sum.
Situation 1:
Seal remains, they confess, nothing happens.

Situation 2:
Seal is broken, small amount of offenders go to jail, none ever confess again

Situation 3:
Seal never exists, nobody ever confesses

These is zero difference between situation 1 and 3. Zero. Situation 2 is such a small gain to destroy something so valued and iconic.

I believe they should be punished, but this isnt the way to do it.

As someone that is not religious in the slightest, I agree with this post. The seal of privacy isn't the problem. The priest during the confession has the opportunity to encourage the person to do the right thing. If the privacy rule goes away then the confessions won't continue and then nothing changed.

No penalty that I'm aware of. As others have pointed out don't get burned out on the sidequests. I played for the first time a couple of years ago and did too many side-quests early on which dragged out the game. I'd typically try to do a few per area, but there are just way too many of them for it to be fun.

Awesome game!
