if you had a good handle on logic and abstract thinking, youd be good at math because thats all it is

That said, we teach math poorly (emphasis on rote memorization rather than understanding until you hit math major specific abstract classes)

Python is fucking garbage and produces bad programmers (who are super anal about indenting but apparently don't care about things like type safety, compile-time checks, or optimization. You know, things that actually matter).

its an amazingly easy to use scripting language

I use it daily for quick data analysis/manipulation, time saver scripts, and some prototyping

I dont give a shit about any of what youre bitching about because not all code needs to be super optimized academically perfect works of art

Python is awesome for people in the real world
Crawl back into your Mountain Dew cave and have fun w/ assembly or whatever

There is so much more to math than calc
Most people would get so much more out of proof based math courses than dicking around w/ plug n chug calc 1-3 exercises in memorization
