Eh public schools are useful because they expose you to team work. You don't get that in home school. When you are at work you are bound to have team work and sometimes you have to learn to deal with slackers or try hards. Of course you can't pick your coworkers since they come from the public.

I have been to an anime convention before. Mainly because my friends were going and they half dragged me along. I probably wouldn't go by myself, especially with how much they were charging for admission. I had more fun with the car convention my city hosted earlier in the year and it was much cheaper. Maybe I had unrealistic expectations as I was thinking it was going to be more similar to the car convention. It was a different format than I had expected. That said some of the cosplays are pretty good and the people making them put a lot of effort into them.

See I just don't think this is really true at all. I never interact with people who I don't know the way I had to in public schools. Again, I really didn't mind public school at all and I've never even been homeschooled but its just hard for me to draw much from the experience that is useful irl

Like what situations are you thinking about?

For one thing public schools are bound to have assholes. Dealing with them is something you have to do in adult life. Another thing is that I know a few people that went to single gender private schools and it was a shock seeing the other gender when they hit college.

Public schools are good because they are closest to a real world experience. You are going to meet all kinds of people in life and having a sheltered upbringing isn't going to prepare you for real life.

I was homeschooled from 6th grade on. My parents went to the effort to actually teach me though, so I managed to get into a good college with scholarships.

Of course, they started homeschooling me after the school refused to do anything about the kids who literally held me down and beat me with a baseball bat (among other things) breaking my arm and cracking my skull. I got suspended for that incident because zero tolerance policy... And the school made me finish out the day before letting me go to the hospital. The judge threw out the lawsuit my parents filed because his kid was involved. The DA refused to press charges against the kids or the school because again, his kid was involved...

So yeah... I much prefer homeschooling to public school in an area with a corrupt government.

Not sure why they would be handling the case, given it is blatantly clear there is a conflict of interest.
