I actually discovered them recently and checked out their discog. Definitely found their identity after the first couple of albums, which I personally am fine with -- the imagery is cool and the whole Papa Emeritus shtick is interesting enough. I picked out a few standout tracks (Cirice, He Is, Dance Macabre...a couple others) to add to my own library, but a lot of it kind of bleeds together in my memory.

That could also be a function of me going through the discog in like a day but who knows. I'll probably go through it again to find anything I might have missed

Been reading his stuff over the summer. Did Stormlight in a few months, finished Elantris last week, and just started Mistborn. As someone who enjoys fantasy novels that invent interesting systems of magic and explore their mechanics/effects on people and the world... I'm really enjoying digging into this stuff

Not 100% sure how it is done, but I mean, the game engine should be able to access the internal state data of every character on screen, as well as run real-time analytics on player activity... Shouldn't be too hard to have some commentators pre-record a ton of just-generic-enough comments, then code up a system to trigger those comments when a correlated event occurs.

I'm glad Retro isn't making it. The first is a masterpiece but 2 is mediocre and 3 was borderline bad.

I actually found Echoes to be a really great game personally, but I understand why a lot of people didn't feel the same way. Definitely not as good compared to the first, which I agree is a 10/10 game for sure... But Echoes had a lot of really cool stuff going for it, I think. Probably a 8-8.5/10.

And yeah 3 kind of did drop the ball, I agree on that too. Wii controls were fine, at least the aiming; the other gimmicky Wiimote stuff was kinda heavy handed at times. The moment to moment gameplay was pretty cool, but the story and game design kinda fell flat. Environment art/music was pretty cool, although no instantly memorable places like 1's Phendrana Drifts or 2's Sanctuary Fortress. Maybe Elysium? or whatever the sky city was...

If I knew anything more about it, I would be. As for now, I'm just hopeful, and I do trust Ninty to make a good game given their current string of 1st party success...but I'm a little skeptical that Retro isn't making this one
