It's actually insane how poorly written romantic relationships are in video games. There's almost not a single good one that stands out as having literary merit.

It gets really hard to understand who has what with the loser's bracket.

This is so obviously unhealthy. Either tell the truth to your parents or go no contact. There is no reason to spend your life living out lies forced upon you by others. There is no reason to be voiceless.

I think that the champion of the previous contest should have to sit out the next contest. Simple rule that would let Link come and go.

The movie has anti-oppression themes at every level. It has no human substance. No real moral complexity and no real character development. It's just the oppressed rising up. The film seriously comes off like a piece of propaganda.

Rey rebels against Luke Skywalker, symbolically against the idea of noble lineage itself
Luke and Yoda rebel against tradition
Kylo rebels against Luke as a child
Kylo rebels against Snoke as an adult
The oppressed children are depicted as on the path to rebellion against the wealthy elite on the arms dealer planet

The one case in which the aesthetic of rebellion is clearly reversed is with Poe, who symbolizes masculinity. His rebellion against the female leadership fails and he is depicted as entitled.
