I liked the story, atmosphere, dialogue (and music!) in 1, but there was a point around the middle where it was a struggle to keep playing.

2 I found a bit easier to get through. I can't really choose between it and 1 in terms of story.

3 was a bit of a reversal: a far better game, but the story didn't grab me as much.

The gameplay definitely leaves something to be desired in all 3 though, but at least it gradually improved in each game.

Scroll down a bit.

vice
often US vise
/ (vas) /
noun
an appliance for holding an object while work is done upon it, usually having a pair of jaws
verb
(tr) to grip (something) with or as if with a vice

To be honest, as a Brit, I hadn't even heard of "vise". I can't say I care much about this change either way. I'd prefer the British spelling since I'm more used to it, but it's such a minor thing.

I don't know that Labour would have been able to stop Brexit, Putting it to another referendum seemed like the "sneaky" way to cancel it, but given how this election went it might not have even come to a remain win. At the very least, all the markets rallying on the news of the results and the spike in value of the sterling is evidence that business at least prefers certainty over more waffling. But I also have more faith that the UK will be fine in the long run. They survived multiple world wars and existed just fine before the EU. There are plenty of other countries outside the EU that do business with them just fine, so I don't see brexit quite as the country-ending catastrophe as some do.
As a remainer (still), I'm not sure even a remain win and/or the revocation of Article 50 would have put the genie back in the bottle. That wouldn't stop a Brexit supporting party (i.e. the Tories) putting Brexit in their manifesto to attract the significant number of Brexit supporters still out there. If the 2016 referendum can be ignored, then so can a subsequent one. Unless it's legally binding, but that would kick up a massive stink (if it could get through parliament). I don't know how that would work legally, since future governments can't be bound and the country essentially forced to remain in the EU in perpetuity.

Well, we don't need to think about that now lol.

I can't really find any info on it but does the way the UK's "system" is set up favour the Conservatives, like how the US' favours the Republicans?

Like you look at a map of the constituencies and the UK (particularly England) has an absolute fuckload of rural ones that always vote for the Conservatives.

E: And yes I know they have different forms of government, that's not relevant to my question.
I seem to remember a couple of elections back that Labour actually did better in terms of votes/seat (seems I was wrong on this; see below). For that reason, the Tories wanted to shrink the number of seats (to 600 was it?).

UKIP got shafted with something like 4m votes/1 seat. The SNP got like 50 seats on like 1m-2m votes (can't remember the actual number).

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/sep/06/theresa-may-to-ditch-plans-to-cut-number-of-mps-from-650-to-600

The commission is set to publish its latest proposals based on 600 constituencies next month, revealing which MPs would face the axe.

Labour opposes the reduction, which would cut the number of seats in its urban heartlands and result in the party losing more seats than the Tories. The Labour leader, Jeremy Corbyn, has previously labelled the plans gerrymandering.

The Tory leadership is preparing to abandon the plan and ask the Boundary Commission to redo the review on the basis of keeping all 650 MPs to ensure that all constituencies are of broadly equal size, the Times said.

Found the votes per seat from 2017:

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/general-election-2015/politics-blog/11593854/Votes-Per-Seat-for-each-party.html

So the Tories had the advantage in 2017.

2015: https://www.opendemocracy.net/en/opendemocracyuk/voters-per-mp-why-first-past-post-failed/

The surprising result of the election illustrates the distorting effect of First Past The Post (FPTP) voting. The Tories have a 99-seat lead 15% of the parliaments seats on the opposition Labour, with 6.5% more of the vote share. The Lib Dems have lost many seats, falling to 7.9% of the vote share but with only 1.2% of the seats. The Greens have over 1.1 million voters with 1 seat. UKIP had nearly 4m votes, for 1 seat.

I mean I'm pretty sure the Conservatives ending up with the most seats is a foregone conclusion, the only question is if they'll win enough to form a majority either outright on their own or through another coalition.
Fuck knows what would happen in a hung parliament. I can't see who the Tories would form a coalition with. The Brexit Party will be lucky to get a single seat, UKIP are finished, the Lib Dems, SNP and Plaid are diametrically opposed, they've burned their bridges with the DUP. Change UK (or whatever name they're going by this week) aren't worth mentioning.

That leaves, what, Labour + SNP? Who knows if they'll have enough seats or even be able to agree anything. The SNP have ruled out a formal coalition, so they say.

The Metroids are particular favorites of mine. It was amazing how we hadn't had a Metroid game (let alone a good one) in a few years, then 4 came along at once (including the Primes on the GC). Fusion maybe wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but it's nonetheless a damn good game.

Aside from the usual, Legacy of Goku II and Buu's Fury are great, along with Super Robot Taisen Original Generation 1/2 (and the JP-only Super Robot Wars A) and the Mega Man Battle Networks (2, 3 and 6 being my favorites).

What little I played of Mega Man Zero I liked. I'm looking forward to the Zero / ZX collection next year.

I'm not sure a game has ever "ruined" others for me, but some have certainly made me be a bit more critical of other games, noticing the aspects that are perhaps not as good or not my preference. E.g. Deus Ex, Super Metroid, Morrowind, Diablo II, etc.

Diablo II is probably the closest to what you're asking for. It's so addictive that it can stop me from playing other games entirely. I'd much rather play it than D3, and D4 will probably be the same.

Like others, I sometimes fight Sabrina first, maybe even more often than not.

I don't really think there's too much wrong with the way it's currently done. There isn't a set order, hence the levels being similar. If you want to go to Saffron and fight Sabrina before Koga, you're perfectly able to do that.

On my most recent playthrough, I broke the game a bit. I traded Fresh Water in from Stadium to reach Saffron early, and made extensive use of the Mew glitch to get my team early.

I think you can skip Brock through a glitch, but don't really see why you'd want to outside of a challenge.

There's also Glitch City, but I don't really know what you can do with that. Can you use it to get to Cinnabar early?
