WW1 and WW2 shaped the world as we know it today

what other history is there honestly
Ah, but if we're talking about WW1, well, that involves nationalist movements in the Balkans, the Franco-Prussian War, the collapse of Bismarck's "Three Emperors" pact, Serbian intelligence operations, the First and Second Balkan Wars, the Entente's belief in the frailty of Austria-Hungary and the Ottoman Empire, the belief of Germany and Britain that Russia was a rapidly growing threat, the erratic and alienating behavior of Kaiser Wilhelm II, the Russian royal family's relationship to a random mystic, the Russo-Japanese War, everyone's dreams of empire, the feeling that a general European war was inevitable, the feeling that fighting a general European war in 1914 was advantageous(felt simultaneously by both sides), etc. etc. etc.
That's all before any shots are fired.

It ain't shit mate. What it is a sign is that Corbyn led an abysmal campaign, and far too many took to hear the smear campaign alongside his own disastarious efforts, along with people still believing Brexit is in their interests.
Yeah, it's pretty clear Corbyn got too cute with Brexit: he essentially tried to straddle the middle. The weakness of such a strategy was temporarily masked by May's incompetence, but it weakened Labour's position in the long run. It left them with nothing to offer Leave voters(who could just vote for BoJo, who successfully made the Tories the sole Leave party) while alienating Remain voters. Given that those voting blocs are roughly the same size, well, the numbers speak for themselves.
That the press smeared him is also undeniable, but there's not anything that can be done about that. Sad though it is, poor old Jeremy is going to have to take a tumble under the bus for the team after this one. He is, at this point, undeniably holding the British Left back.

Oh absolutely. I think the episode that brought it home was when I was in the deepest throes of my anxiety disorder and afflicted with awful insomnia, so I went for a walk around my neighborhood at around 2AM. I left via the back door because I didn't want to wake my parents. As I was making my way back towards my house, I noticed lights. It was the police. They stopped me and asked me to identify myself, as they had been told there was some one cutting through yards in the neighborhoods. I didn't have ID, so they asked me to stay while they ran my name. One cop stayed to talk with me, obviously trying to poke holes in my story. They let me go after a few minutes.
And you know what I was thinking? "Thank God I'm white."

I really liked the episode. I mean, of course Rick would relate to a nigh-immortal monster that holds humanity in contempt and hoards all kinds of cool crap, and the scene of Morty and Summer walking in on him and the dragon "soul-bonding" was hilarious. Rick and Summer subsequently taking nothing at all seriously was also hilarious and it was even funnier that it ended up with Rick getting shot in the eye. Rick had two great lines in the Slut Dragon sequence("Oh my God, I am just now seeing the staff" after the old dragon has been talking for a bit and "Maybe don't tell your parents we did this" mid-orgy). I also loved the wizard's death scene where he just stream-of-consciousness-style narrates his agonizing death.
The Jerry plot was kind of lame up until the end, when Rick picks him up and the reason the cat can talk is exposed as something so unspeakably terrible that Rick tries to kill himself and Jerry vomits and cries but neither can bring themselves to kill the cat. Also - Rick doing Jerry a favor, who saw that coming?

Of course, even more troubling are the implications: if all Jews are Israelis by definition, are they fully American? By the logic of right-wing nationalism, the answer is no. Friendly reminder that Stephen Miller is one of Trump's most trusted advisors.

Hell, sometimes players in the NFL flop. I remember one time Bills punter Brian Moorman flopped hard on a punt after being lightly contacted by an opposing player and drew a BS roughing the kicker penalty. I'm sure some defensive linemen might take a fall here or there if they think it might persuade a ref the offensive lineman was holding them.

She was doing fine actually until she revealed her actual healthcare plan, which was trashed by both the left and the right for being unrealistic
She spent months waffling on whether or not she supported Bernie's plan, then unveiled a MfA plan that eschewed (modest) middle income tax increases in favor of a head tax on employers that could potentially be easily evaded by just converting employees into "independent contractors".
Then she walked that back, proposing to pass a healthcare plan reminiscent of what Biden and Buttigieg have proposed and THEN doing MfA after mid-terms, as though it would be easier then(spoiler alert: the incumbent president's party almost always loses seats in the mid-term elections!)

I mean, it is true that Bernie's Medicare for All plan is extremely unlikely to pass as-is during his theoretical presidency, but the point of having such a proposal is to demonstrate that, if he could, Bernie would go all the way, and that gives me confidence he's not just going to meekly(or, as Obama did, enthusiastically) sign whatever Pelosi, Schumer, and the health insurance and pharmaceutical industries cobble together and declare the matter settled in perpetuity.

Yeah, theres no evidence of any mass migration out of Egypt. Probably the Ancient Israelites always lived in Canaan, or came from some other nearby place.
There could be a kernel of truth there; however. The Egyptians did rule over the area for a time, and they typically compelled their subjects to spend part of the year working on state construction projects, which, to a conquered people, would feel less like a tax and more like slavery. Thats pure conjecture on my part though.
