I did see an interview with Probst in which he explicitly stated that the editors are now focused on telling stories on an episode by episode basis rather than a narrative for the season, and that he's okay with that. Also explains why edgic has been so fucked up more often than not for the past 10 seasons or so. And this is why modern Survivor Is inferior nowadays, unfortunately. Because rather than build up Chelsea/Dean as a showmance over the course of several episodes (perhaps giving Dean content, rather than erasing him from a ninety minute premiere), they just throw the showmance in here, justifying why everyone is suddenly okay with betraying the womens alliance to boot Chelsea as literally the third choice of a target. Its a twisted cycle that sends the show on a downward spiral. The edit hypes up blindsides and big moves as being amazing; then they edit the show on an episode-by-episode basis so the fans dont think Hey.
