Well, I'm guessing he was a beggar. Looked like one. I've seen that tactic before. It's just shocking because asking someone for cab fare and to call it is a big favor. I think for anything like school sports, publicly funded stuff, it's pretty fucking offensive to not give boys and girls the same access to resources. For real. It's bogus. At a professional level, market dictates pay.

The problem is, that doesn't end with your simple statement. Things never are that easy and people like you are never willing to run the operations to implement the change. The boy's football team will get all the money, then the girl's softball team will demand the same. Then the fashion club will want all the same shit too. You can't really break it into even parts when girls don't want to equally participate.

Ideologically this easy to just sit there and say SAME SAME SAME. Equal equal equal! Administrating it ends up killing all of it because then the money is spread so thin that only booster clubs can subsidize the proper amount.

We cannot set iron equality standards for shit like this when the numbers and interest is asymmetrical. Places are so different that localized administration and outside funding are needed just to make things work. If you start trying to put in layered top down authority on these things, you're going to get more participation from setting and enforcing the standards than even the participation for the activities. Then the whole planet is fucking obsessed with it.

Oh but what's that you say? Your plan wasn't so over arching? You just meant boys and girls per sport/activity? Well what about Susie and her friends who disagree and want everything equal across the board?

You know what happens when everyone has to get a penny for every individual thing? No one gets a penny. These ideas you're talking about aren't so fucking simple. And just because you think all this is a no-brainer and the market is good for pro sports doesn't mean your more disagreeable neighbors aren't saying fuck pro sports too.

I am related to a few Canadians met many of them as snow birds for our family vacation rental business. It is true there is a stark divide between left and right Canadians and how they think.

It's because many of the people here are cruel to each other so they end up not wanting to come back if they are new. We all got that one friend that tags along but never has any cash when we were younger. All of us had jobs, but this fool always comes up empty talking about how he'll get ya'll next time.

I think I ended up buying some 10 movie tickets 20 meals for dude during my high school days and dude never got me back once. Plus, the times he did pay for his own shit, he acted like someone died.

I always acted nice and paid, but shit always kinda got to me after a while. Since we knew he wasnt paying any rent or bills at home either. You guys ever had friends take advantage of your generosity? Hell, sometimes I'd invite the little dude along just to have more friends at a movie.
