So Im eventually supposed to inherit a property from my father and doing a quick google search on it shows its valued at approximately $760,000.

The other funny thing I found out was that apparently my parents bought the property over 25 years ago for $142,500. Talk about an investment!

It's called a property bubble. We were in one in the mid-2000's, and we're in one again now, because politicians have done nothing to fix it. And it's not really funny, it's destroying the middle class.

People's incomes didn't get 5x larger in the last 25 years. Those property values are unsustainable, and are pricing more and more people out of home ownership and into being permanent renters.

...it's not necessarily a property bubble. Some areas have exploded in terms of high-paying jobs within the past 25 years. And the property bubble of the 2000s has little resemblance to anything that might happen today, given the last one was driven by subprime loans which are nowhere near as ubitiquitous today.

Beauty and the Beast continues to feel like an even worse version of Smallville. At times, it feels kinda like Smallville was mashed together with Grimm -- mostly in terms of the stupid goofiness of the random plot contrivances, changes in character motivation, etc. One of the things that randomly annoys me the most is the logical inconsistencies surrounding the time-frames. Kristin Kreuk was born in 1982. She was noted as graduating in 2003 (circa the reunion episode; which, by the way, would puts the actress's real age at 21 upon graduating -- not a big deal in theory, because shows always cast older for younger characters).

She had either started college or was getting ready to go to college at the beginning of the series, which is set prior to the show's modern day. If she graduated in 2003, then she'd likely be younger than 28 in the first episode (since Vincent was supposedly in hiding for over a decade and was likely in hiding when they first saw each other). Isn't that kinda young for a detective? I was under the impression that you had to work a certain number of years before you could take a promotion exam and homicide detectives should have more stringent requirements.

Then we have Vincent. He was already a doctor as September 11th. Even if he hadn't fully gone through his residency, etc, that would make him probably at least 25 at the time (and 10-12 years older than that when the show starts, meaning there's probably a substantial age difference between Vincent and Cat but nothing absolutely insane). Assuming that the show is set in 2012, the time line is *really* screwy. Even if he enlisted right after the attack, it would have taken time for him to get over there, go through the experiments, etc, and THEN go into hiding for over 10 years after that.

Granted, this is among the more inconsequential inconsistencies >_>

Currently watching s2, where the show has taken on more of a monster-of-the-week format as opposed to season 1 which, while it focused on cases, seemed to have more running plot threads. S2E1 was probably the worst episode so far.

everything I keep seeing about survey size says that this is actually a good survey size and I'm really confused.

It's a good survey size as long as the sample is sufficiently randomised from the group. It's good if they're proportionately picked from every state and from both urban and rural populations. It's bad if it's all picked from one location.

With 3000 people, you generally wash out blips with pure volume.

The problem with that is that transgenders make up such a tiny percentage of the population that, if you're just taking the 3,000 people, you might only have 10-30 transgenders in there (in terms of size, that's basically a blip) so those handful of individuals' opinions skew the sample. And, of the remaining 3,000 people, you're probably only looking at about 1,300 or 1,400 straight men.

Zeus once spent a 300+ post topic arguing that a driver who committed a hit and run (in which he ran over a lady, then backed over her again before fleeing) wasn't an awful person because that would dilute the gravity of the word "awful" and mean it couldn't reasonably be used to describe people like Hitler. He consistently fixates on how incorrigible it is that people neglect to type "neo-" in modern discussions about Nazis because it might confuse people who don't realize we aren't talking about literal time travellers, ignoring more salient discussion of said Nazis. Of course he wants to debate the meaning of atheism and the pointlessness of Huxley's agnosticism. Ignoring the semantics that are actually worth debating in context is all he has.

You're conflating incidents. The hit&run was a guy who ran over a Pokemon Go player and whose initial crime was almost certainly an accident. The point of contention was motivations for not doing the right thing afterward and coming forward. You ascribed those motivations to pure evil, I suggested that it could be simple cowardice. Granted, I do lack your tendency towards sweeping hyperbole, which is why I don't throw around the term Nazi simply because I don't like an individual and I'm not sure that I've ever exaggerated the size of a topic that greatly.

As for pretending agnosticism is atheism, it's a flat-out deception and entirely in bad faith. You can't pretend that it's a minor issue in semantics, especially since that bullshit is pretty agenda-driven.

E pluribus unum sounds like shit and In God We Trust is great simply for the "All others pay cash." More importantly, it doesn't specify *which* god and "atheism is on the rise" is a hilariously deceptive claim considering how tiny the avowed atheist population is and how relatively flat the growth has been. Of course, the deceptive practices have grown, where atheists try to claim agnostics and anybody who doesn't identify as a particular religion into their ranks which, of course, is not and never will be the same thing as being atheists.

The annoying part of all this is how preventable these incidents are and how frequently the animals wind up having to be put down because humans aren't exercising basic caution.

Batman by far, although I enjoy a lot of the others. It's hard to top watching Vincent Price play the Eggman.

Otherwise I enjoyed the Linda Carter Wonder Woman, Shazam (from what I saw of it), the Six Million Dollar Man, and, to a lesser extent, Hulk. I haven't seen that much of Greatest Hero (although it seems funny), I can't remember if I watched Bionic Woman, and the 50s Superman is hard to binge.

I can't recall if I ever watched Green Hornet or Spider-Man.

Batman is one of the few I can almost seriously enjoy. An episode or two of others listed and I have had enough.

tbh, I do have a hard time watching more than a few Hulk episodes in a row. Ditto for the George Reeves Superman.

The Legend of Dragoon was a very mediocre PS1 JRPG,

Really? I thought it had a just-mediocre story with excellent-for-the-time-graphics and an interesting combat system.

but it seems to have a larger legacy than so many random AAA RPGs.

Well, it was more creative than a lot of AAA RPGs.

You try and find any random AAA game from even 10 years ago and see if it has that active of a community. Bonus points if it's the only entry in its series.

Most popular AAA games were part of a series. Do you mean to say that the FF7 board isn't active?

And, tbh, I'm looking at the board now and it's not *that* active. It's not completely dead, which is surprising, but it's a slow board.

The FFVII board is certainly more active:

Chrono Cross is as active as LoD

Suikoden II, which was more obscure at the time, has activity

If we want to go older, I'm pretty sure there are a lot of SNES RPGs that still have a following.

Plus wasn't Legend of Dragoon a AAA game? It was clearly had a sizable budget and was developed & released by Sony.
