Objectively wrong. A parasite by definition must be a different species than the host. We don't need to lie to justify a woman's right to bodily autonomy.

Also, stop responding to karl, people. He's a troll.

Context matters. In a strict biology context yes. But words are fluid. That's why citing a dictionary definition (especially an English one) is ridiculous.

Yes, context matters. The context is that when people spout nonsense like "it's a parasite" or "it's a clump of cells" they're signaling the opposition to ignore them and anyone else who argues from a pro-choice perspective. This debate can only be won with superior arguments, and arguments like those mentioned above are literally counterproductive.

You're high. At no point whatsoever did I say or suggest that a mountain reflects as much or more light than the moon. The entire point of mentioning that mountains also reflect light is simply that - mountains reflect light. They can be seen. You need to stop putting words in my mouth.

Jfc, no I didn't. "I doubt you'd even need the telescope" isn't a figurative phrase. It also isn't a hard claim. It's an assumption based on the fact that smaller features than Everest are clearly visible on the moon, 20x times farther away than Everest could ever be in a flat earth model. The only thing obstructing the view of Everest on a flat earth would be atmosphere or large local objects.

The moon is over 15x the size of what? What fact are you accusing me of refuting? Seriously, this reply makes no sense whatsoever.

The facts are: The smallest lunar crater visible unaided is ~20 miles in diameter. Everest is ~140 miles wide by ~5.5 miles tall. Everest would be clearly visible if it were on the moon, a quarter million miles away. If the earth were flat, you would be able to see it from anywhere on earth with decent elevation. The only obstacle would be atmospheric interference.

Your last paragraph is pure flame, so I'll go ahead and take that as your acknowledgement that you don't know what you're talking about.

I'm sorry you think facts are dumb.

As I explained in my post, that's not a fact, so it really is a pretty dumb post like said. You see the Moon because of the reflection of the Sun. And as another brought up, no, you can't see asteroids with the naked eye outside a tiny spec at best.

1. The sun reflects off mountains too, genius.
2. No asteroid the size of Everest has passed within the moon's orbit, so of course they aren't generally visible unaided.

Please note that you're talking to an amateur astronomer who owns two telescopes (Newtonian and Dobsonian). It's unlikely you're more familiar with the solar system and the scales of distance being discussed than I am.

The supreme court ruled in favor of the bakery and refused to make any generalized claim that could be applied to other states or even other businesses involved in the wedding industry. They stated that the bakers religious beliefs which are protected trumped gay rights since they aren't a federally protected class for anti-discrimination.

This isn't even remotely what happened. The SC ruled that the state of CO acted with hostility towards Phillips' religious beliefs and made a ruling exclusive to that one case. It does not set any precedent, it does not change existing CO law. Quit trolling.

The supreme court agreed.

Objectively wrong. The supreme court didn't comment on whether or not the baker broke the law.

So then they didn't break the law

They did, but they got away with it because Colorado screwed the case. It's still illegal to discriminate in this manner in CO, and it would still be illegal if the same baker did it again.
