She followed up a joke with a pretentious self-congratulation about how much money they were making (in part) because of her past movies. "Season 1 was what it was. There was a f**k-ton of nudity," Clarke said. "They sent me the scripts, and I was like, 'Oh, there's the catch.' But I'd come fresh from drama school and was like, 'Approach this as a job, if it's in the script, then it's clearly needed,' so I kind of came to terms with that before hand." Clarke also spoke of her struggles with imposter syndrome, which hit her particularly hard now that she was one of the stars of this huge new series.

I was in such like a, oh my god, other world, I'm floating through this first season, I have no idea what I'm doing, I have no idea what any of this is. I've never been on a film set like this before, I'd been on a film set twice before then, and now I'm on a film set completely naked, with all of these people and I don't know what I'm meant to do, and I don't know what's expected of me, and I don't know what you want, and I don't know what I want. Regardless of whether they'd been nudity, I'd have spent that first season thinking, 'I'm not worthy of requiring anything, I'm not worthy of needing anything at all.'

"It was definitely hard," Clarke said of performing the nude scenes, "which is why the scenes when I got to do them with Jason [Momoa] were wonderful, because he was like, 'No sweetie, this isn't okay!'... Its only now that I realize how fortunate I was with that, because that could have gone many, many, many different ways. Because Jason had experience, he had done a bunch of stuff before coming on to this, he was like, Sweetie, this is how its meant to be and this is how its not meant to be, and Im going to make sure thats the way it goes,"

Clarke explained, adding, "He was so kind and considerate and cared about me as a human being. He took care of me, he really did. In an environment where I didnt know I needed to be taken care of." Things are very different nowadays however, as Clarke said that she's, "a lot more savvy about what I'm comfortable with and what I'm okay with doing. I've had fights on set before where I'm like, 'no, the sheet stays up,' and they're like 'you don't want to disappoint your Game of Thrones fans,' and I'm like, 'f**k you.'" When the time came to perform her last nude scene in season six's "Book of the Stranger," Emilia Clarke said her attitude was, "I'm owning this, this is mine, they've asked me to do it, and I am f**king game," which certainly mirrored the character's frame of mind as well during that moment.

Wow, didn't realize how much of a sweetie Aquaman is. He could've really taken advantage of the situation, and Khaleesi would've been none-the-wiser. No wonder he's still married to one of the hottest women in the planet .

I hear this all of the time from many non-black conservatives. They say that America was founded as a Christian nation, and therefore, we must have laws that prioritize Christianity over all other ideologies.

America was ALSO founded as a nation for white men. In fact, the laws of our nation were explicitly written to prioritize white men over all other races and genders.

This idea that America as a nation was meant primarily to serve white men was constantly pushed and supported for over 100+ years up through the 1950s until the Civil Rights movements. It had HUGE political and cultural support from at least 25%-45% of Americans at various times in its history.

So I ask-- If you believe that America is a Christian nation, based on the intent of its origin, then do you also believe that America is a White Man's nation? If you don't, then please explain how the logic doesn't apply to both .

I saw somewhere that because of the way the wall is designed, they can cut gaps in it and the posts will just hang from the top. So at a visual glance, the wall looks perfectly fine despite it being a very expensive wind chime.

The entire premise of both comics was to yank out everything X-Men fans devout and casual knew about the X-Men, all through an expanded role for the previously underused character Moira MacTaggart. In just a handful of issues, writer Jonathan Hickman and artist Pepe Larraz established that after she dies, Moria has the power to reset herself and her own timeline back to the day she gains consciousness (as a fetus), while holding onto all the knowledge, memories, and experience of the life she just lived. The catch is Moira only has up to 11 lives, according to a pre-cog mutant named Destiny, to use this power and to shape mutantkind.

And now, as of issue five, Moira is either on her last or second-to-last life. During her previous nine lives (including a mysterious sixth one that Hickman and Larraz havent told us about yet), Moira achieved some lofty goals: Earths mutants are united and now live on their own sentient country called Krakoa. Theyve seemingly eliminated a future threat, the rise of mutant-killing machines, too. Yet, as House of X has flexed in its previous issues, its when everyones comfortable that we should start getting scared.

One of the best things about House of X is how Hickman and Larraz have continually embraced some of the least-known and strangest X-Men characters in recent memory. They did that by focusing on Moiras power and have done it again in the most recent issue.

Thanks to Moiras sacrifice and knowledge gleaned from her ninth life, the X-Men know that humans have started to develop an AI system that will eventually, in the distant future, be an all-powerful mutant-hunting machine. After figuring out when this system goes online, Professor X and Magneto assemble a team of X-Men to go into outer space and destroy the AI (which is out in space) by launching it into the sun. The mission goes south, resulting in the deaths of Jean Grey, Archangel, Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Monet, Husk, Mystique, and Wolverine but they do, after sacrificing their lives, end up destroying the AI before it goes online.

And yet, Hickman took one of the X-Mens best, dumbest superpowers and finessed it into one of their most powerful. In Hickmans interpretation of Goldballss powers, the gold balls are actually viable biological mutant eggs that can sustain life. Thats much more useful than plain gold spheres.

Add in a mix of healing powers from a mutant named Elixir, time travel from Eva Bell, reality warping from Proteus, synergy from Hope Summers, and some identity and consciousness transplants from Professor X, and the X-Men have essentially figured out how to rebirth the mutants who died in that final mission and any who could die in the future:



There is still a feeling of unease, however. Remaking new mutants after old ones die cant be the status quo of storytelling. Future issues cant just be about the mutants waiting for these gold eggs to hatch. Something has to happen to make this process a bit more complicated, and it feels like it will which is a remarkable way to set up intrigue going forward.

With House of X, Hickman shows that he is constantly thinking of news ways to think about these dead-end beings. Like he did with Moira, Hickman has turned Goldballs and his crew of forgotten X-Men into full-fledged characters with intriguing powers. He and his cohort, along with other forgotten mutants, have seemingly become more powerful, but not to the point where their existence breaks storytelling. To do what Hickman did with these esoteric characters offers fidelity to the larger X-Men canon.
