Shit these days they have parental controls that will let ya lock it also. I don't think you have to punch the kid in the face... Kids have harmed parents over stuff like that. Not to say a punch in the face wouldn't lead to the same result but before spanking was a sin, kids didn't act like they do today. Hell even back when I was in school some people were real shitsticks with attitude because they said stuff like 'you can't do anything to me' to staff. You are basing that off the few reports we get on GameFAQs about a kid going crazy and killing or hurting his parent because they hid the Xbox or something or grounded him from it. I think kids like that are in the vast minority, I mean if that is the vast majority this country is fucking screwed because these same people will take rejection very poorly and may do something rash. I don't think the average kid is going to kill his mom or dad or even attack them with a weapon intending to seriously harm them because they hid his Xbox. Shit one time way back I was grounded from TV and Video Games for a few months, I didn't go postal and do something crazy because of that. Not only that but it's hilarious to think that parents will live in fear of their kids because their addicted to fortnite lmao if your kid is coming at you with a knife, then yeah punch their lights out. Bethesda, blizzard, etc just break my heart man I was never in love with either, so their fall doesn't bother me as much. I save my tears for Bioware and Bungie. So many great memories from both for the first decade and a half of the current millennium, now both are so broken and ruined nothing of value is likely to ever come from either of them ever again (and Bioware will probably be gutted and devoured by EA sooner or later, like it's done to so many other studios before it like Origin and Westwood). I felt the same way about Square before that - it was pretty much my A-number-1 company for most of the 90s, now it's been more or less dead to me since the Squeenix merger. Yeah those guys as well. Blizzard I have been following since warcraft and betheada since morrowind. But there are other companies as well. EA used to be really cool in the 90's for example. Just so many companies turning towards pure greed and customer exploitation. I'd agree, though Pillars of Eternity was somewhat lackluster IMO. If nothing else, I've never had any real problems with games they've made that I've bothered playing (I haven't played every single game they've released, mostly just the major ones). And I liked them before they WERE Obsidian, back when they were Black Isle. But I've also seen multiple examples of studios I once loved becoming everything I hate, and the modern game industry in general has taught me to be suspicious of hell of pretty much every studio, so I tend to look before I leap. Then look again. Then wait a bit and look again. That's doubly true for story-heavy RPGs, where some flaws may not become obvious for a while (like Mass Effect 3 and Fallout 3 having bullshit endings that kind of ruin them for some people, or Dragon Age 3 being 1/2 of an interesting Dragon Age game hidden behind layers and layers and layers and layers of filler, and then completely negated and ruined by its DLC). Which makes it hard to trust professional reviews, because most are so desperate to get their review published early to get clicks, they don't even remotely finish a game before scoring it. So early hype can be tricksy until people actually start getting to the end and are able to consider the entire experience holistically. Again, it's my trust for Obsidian and the fact that I liked New Vegas that tends to steer me towards assuming I'll probably get this eventually (in the same way I'm pretty sure I'll buy Cyberpunk 2077 eventually after it comes out), but my trust only goes so far at this point. The industry has burned me way too many times to give complete trust even to companies I've loved for decades. This is exactly how I feel too. It is a genetic mess up either way. Doesn't mean they should be treated as less then human. But the conversaiton of how to handle the situation is needed. I also don't think we have the technology to properly handle the situation. We can't exactly switch someones organs and have them function as normal, you can't switch what you were born with unfortunately. I also feel some don't really have the problem and are just mentally unstable, want attention, or some other mental gymnastics reason. The question is how to tell these people apart from the ones that have a genetic issue. It also should be a lot more then just let people do what they want.
