I feel like I've slipped into a vicious cycle where any sense of productivity I feel also comes from digital attachment. Solid Sonic 09/19/19 8:37:36 AM #4	Traffic you send only gets seen as passing between you and the server hosting the VPN with no indication of what's being encapsulated by the tunnel. The VPN server is then responsible for making requests to unencrypted hosts on your behalf so to anyone else it only looks like the VPN server is sending and receiving anything meaningful while no one can distinguish the traffic coming out of it and thus is impossible to identify who actually is receiving the data. Essentially it's a secure proxy server (I think if you send a request to a proxy server that isn't a VPN host your content can still be interpreted before it leaves the proxy server, it just changes the external IP that is making the request). XXmiznatorXX posted... I always wondered it too. It takes all your data to a new IP address, but don't they just collect your data too? They can but it would be unscrupulous of them to do so. Not saying it can't happen but a well-meaning VPN only relays requests, it doesn't try to check them out for itself. --- "Imagine a world where hypothetical situations didn't exist..."
