I would recommend a gif of the fan one but it might lead people to forget who the main characters are >_> Still remember watching the scene you're referring to for the first time and I absolutely lost it, props to the people in charge for letting them do it. Also 1 cour is enough for me to like something in this genre but not enough for me to award it 9 or 10/10 unless literally every episode made me laugh, or it's got something a bit deeper than just comedy. Just can't justify voting it over something like Madoka or Antarctica. --- Perhaps the golden rock was inside us all along. |

I would argue that a lot of things like Titan and Re:Zero share similar target demographics and are far better, while there's older things like Berserk too. The thing that gets me isn't that it's necessarily bad but that there's so many better things that are in a similar genre. I think it's just a matter of its exposure meaning that lots of people who like that sort of stuff have watched it and vote it instead of spreading the votes around too much. At least Love Live is the pinnacle (or thereabouts) for idol anime. Goblin Slayer is average at best and in a relatively more saturated genre. Although Haganai 5th would probably have annoyed me about as much to be fair. I'm surprised it even got nominated, didn't realise it was all that popular cause I haven't heard about it in a long while. --- Perhaps the golden rock was inside us all along. |

Out of curiosity is Goblin Slayer the trashiest show to make it this far in this I don't need to have seen the other year's results to answer a resounding yes. The worst part is that we get it again next year... Although hopefully something similar but better will have shown up by then and people move away. But seriously I think an idol show made it further last year (either BanG Dream or Love Live!) and some would call that trashier? Although I would definitely take the idol stuff myself. I really liked the ending of this last year. The last three were all shows I really enjoy. Death Note maybe, if I forgot that it had more than like 24 episodes. On the plus side the unlikely contenders are all great. I'd consider backing Kaguya from the very beginning once S2 comes out although I can't justify chucking it votes based on what's there so far. --- Perhaps the golden rock was inside us all along. |

KyoAni are a wonderful company too, just about all their works are positive and feel-good, and they're one of the few anime studios that don't horribly overwork employees.
