I really hate this trend of people shitting on media solely because of who likes it. Or, in this case, who might like it once it actually releases. It's cringe culture at its worst and most disruptive.

Terry Bogard: High Fodder. Smash will obviously help him out for the most part; he also has a kickass design in general, and I think this site's demographic trends will serve him well. That said, he may get some anti-votes from Smash fans who think he's "undeserving" of a roster slot.

Piccolo - Fodder Line. If we ever have fictional characters added to Character Battles, I expect DBZ to translate particularly well. Piccolo is recognizable, well-liked and would stand out like a motherfucker in any match pic.

Freddy Fazbear - LAW Fodder. I have no beef with Freddy or his franchise, but I can't say the same for any older-skewing video game website. GameFAQs is exactly the kind of place where anti-voters would jump at the chance to rip Freddy a new one, just like we saw with Sans and Draven last year. After all, the fanbase is jUsT sO cRiNgE, right? (eyeroll)

I always call the Wii U "the best purchase I've ever regretted". If I had known how quickly Nintendo would bury the damn thing and port nearly all its key titles to Switch (with extra content, no less), I absolutely would have passed on the U and waited for the Switch.

But at the same time, the first-party lineup on the U was right up my alley. Splatoon 1 in its prime was arguably worth the price of admission all on its own. Then there was Tropical Freeze, Smash 4, Pikmin 3, the highly-underrated Kirby and the Rainbow Curse... even stuff like Game & Wario and New Super Mario Bros. U were much more fun than one would expect.

In a vacuum, the Wii U is a blast. Nonetheless, I find it impossible not to feel like The Dipshit Who Actually Bought a Wii U. C'est la vie!

Really, I don't even think Geno fans are any worse than the Smash community at large.

The problem is, Smash has hands-down the worst fanbase in gaming. The speculation could be contentious in the Brawl and Smash 4 days, but Ultimate really seemed to scramble peoples' brains somehow. I feel like the Waluigi hysteria - first from salty Waluigi supporters, then from the "protect Sakurai's smile" virtue-signaling crowd - was what finally pushed things beyond the pale, and it's only gotten worse from there.

Though I think my least favorite faction of the fanbase are the people who whine every time Hungrybox breathes or takes a step. Jfc...

I have no issue with Terry being DLC tbh. He's been truckin' since before I was even born, he's a genuinely surprising pick and the soundtrack possibilities are nice.

Tails Adventure is easily the best Game Gear game I've played, and single-handedly justifies a GG system purchase. The Battletoads port is really solid. The GG version of Sonic 1 is wonderful, as is Sonic 2 if you're a masochist. Sonic Blast is a decent romp.

For the most part, you are correct: most of the GG library is comprised of lesser versions of games widely available elsewhere. And yet, there is something weirdly charming about it. It's comparable to the Wii U, in a sense. (Within that analogy, Pikmin 3 would be the equivalent to Tales Adventure.)

Venom - Mid Fodder. Recognizable enough to beat the weaklings; otherwise, GameFAQs just isn't the place.

Squirtle - High Midcarder. We're never going to see him slay Cloud again, and Gen I nostalgia doesn't have quite the sway it used to. Nonetheless, I expect Squirtle to still hold water, especially when wielding a Sugimori or sprite match pic.

Klonoa - Low Fodder. I do think he's right on the cusp of Mid Fodder, because Klonoa fans are definitely a passionate bunch. However, they're small in number, and the fact that he's never made a bracket is pretty telling. I imagine he'd be right around Shantae's level.

At this point, these pay-per-ride electric scooters have gone from being a big-city curio to expanding into pretty much any area that'll have them. And over time, the hype surrounding them has been matched (if not surpassed) by passionate hatred.

Since they inspire such strong opinions, I'm curious - what does Board 8 think of them? I thought they were awesome at first, but you can only see so many scooters dumped on sidewalks before growing ambivalent about it all. They're also the easiest thing in the world to vandalize, so I can't see the business model being sustainable.

I'd be ecstatic for an English translation of Shin Onigashima (Famicom Disc System). The soundtrack is one of the best of its era and the storyline and characters seem charming. Sadly, though, I doubt this would ever happen - translating it would be a huge undertaking for little financial benefit.

I'd also love to see official English versions of Mother 3 and Captain Rainbow, though at least those have been fan-translated.

I'm all about it. I drink 3-4 cups a day, generally. I have nothing against cream and sugar, but black coffee is my preference. However, I do enjoy flavored coffees a good deal, such as World Market's butter rum coffee they sell in the winter.

I especially love trying local coffees while traveling. The best coffee I've found so far was from North Pole Coffee in Fairbanks, AK. Alaskan coffee in general is top-notch, much like the PNW, but that stuff was especially excellent. They have a full-city roast called Fairbanks Choice that will wake you up like a smelling salt.
