I definitely liked the kids mechanic a lot in Awakening (less in Fates) for it's own reasons, but this game flourishes for not having it, and for establishing the full cast upfront, and not having final shoehorned in supports devoted to being generic filler to mix and match between characters. As a fun bonus DLC? Sure. But I don't want the mechanic to come back. It's limiting. It hurt Fates a good bit, even if it was great in Awakening. --- |

I don't feel like I'm retreading really, even if I technically am, due to context. And wow it's nuts how much more there is to this route in regards to up front plot. 2 maps so far that are relevant to the people in my house, more cutscenes in general. Edlegard is #1 but her route is not. After getting past the first few maps, the game has been easier on hard than it was on normal due to just being way more competent in classing and time management, not to mention starting at A level proff. --- |

I have to be more careful, but it's doable. Combat Artes actually matter a lot, while on normal only the long range bow stuff had any need to exist. --- |
