Realistically though Snake would probably have found everything he needs to win by the time he reaches DP (like the weird collar that erases his powers) it would just be a matter planning and execution. Being a stealth god certainly helps. --- |

It becomes boring very quickly, the endless meandering dungeon crawl broken up by fights that take way too damn long just getting the battle system to do what you want it to. The second game is much better in every conceivable way, however though the combat is vastly improved over the first it's still pretty clunky and you can barely take a step without fighting something. You can use negotiation to get out of fighting and obtain fusion materials but it's such a strange take on classic demon negotiation it too becomes an annoyance very quickly. That said, anyone who is a fan of Lovecraftian horror should play both versions of 2, the story was good enough to keep me slogging through and even becoming a bit masochistic about it. If you want to see something akin to the old way of Megaten done well just play SMT Nocturne or Digital Devil Saga, they essentially have the same core mechanics as the old school games just executed really well while retaining certain elements the newer Persona games sacrificed to the waifu gods like actual dungeon crawling and puzzles that actually take some thought. They don't exactly have waifus in the sense of the Persona series unless you have a tragic death fetish but there are literal goddeses running around with physical features no mortal waifu can attain and they may even give you free shit after you let them suck off on ya a bit. --- |

They aren't interested in telling good stories so much as they want to tell you what to think. "Show, don't tell" as a rule would help this problem immensely, don't preach at the audience but instead give them a chance to come to their own conclusions about what right and wrong is and show them the consequences of what their thinking leads to both positive and negative. You know, like most games made before the last decade did. And remember that some games don't need politics, being fun is enough given that games are really just toys made by artists to amuse. Same thing goes for the push for diversity, make it organic and be sure that that playable trans character has character traits besides just being trans. Otherwise it looks like shameless pandering and virtue signalling. --- |
