As for Ferdinand. His B-Support is locked behind the timeskip so to recruit him you'll need to work a bit on the stats he wants. Specifically, with a C-Support you'll need 8 Dex and a C in Heavy Armor. (Maybe try at D+ it "shouldn't" work but who knows.)

You can reach C+ rank with Ferdinand. There's no C+ support but it still reduces the recruitment requirements. At C+ Support Rank, Byleth only needs D+ Armor and 6 Dex to recruit Ferdinand.

Yeah, I've been trying to build up Heavy Armor so I can recruit him. Unfortunately, the game won't let me use Renown to gain levels on that one, for whatever the reason.

You can only use Renown to unlock weapon levels you have achieved in a previous game.

The use of quotations here is one thing the twitter user called out. Not a smoking gun by any means, but weird I guess. Here's what he wrote in February "One thing that remains constant: we are committed to creating epic games and entertainment experiences. "

That line seems to be a reference to Blizzard's mission statement. They've used similar wording before:

It's possible they will make a free one at one point. Also FEH tends to do a voting event in February where players can vote for a free Hero. So if we get something like Find & Vote Heroes 2 and Hector wins Red, free Hectors will be given out.

Nope. The Missingno. glitch did not give access to Mew. The Pokemon you can see via the Missingno. glitch depended on your trainer name. By coincidence, none of the possible trainer names let you get Mew.

The first Mew glitch was first discovered in 2003. So if you had a Mew in 1999 it was either legit or used an external cheating device.
