I remember working at a call center in college where I was given an employee handbook that included dress code. The women's dress code was like 10 pages long. The men's was just like half a page. Don't get me wrong, I know men have fewer fashion choices than women, but can't we get at least a full fucking page? You know, women get the choice of skirts, but men don't have even ONE option for business shorts. Why can't we get some goddamn workplace-acceptable business shorts? Is that too much to ask? Turns out voting for stupid shit has consequences.

If it's a matter of losing "free" healthcare, that's something you should have been paying for yourself all along. Because thanks to "free" healthcare being given out, my premiums went up and so did my taxes.

And I should mention that, prior to lowering the standards, the old mods used to moderate people for labeling people Nazis and I imagine any moderator who publicly promoted calling non-Nazis Nazis would have been tossed off the team. Things have certainly changed and not for the better.

If I meant a citizen's arrest, I would have said citizen's arrest. The fact that a woman is scared of an ex wouldn't permit her to preemptively lock up said ex to hand them over to the police any more than she can illegally enter a premises, illegally confiscate property, and then illegally turn that property over to cops. Handing something over to the police at the last stage doesn't undue all the illegal shit it took to get you there.

1) You don't know what level of security it had. Even if he had a gun safe, she'd likely know the code. If it was hidden, she'd know where it was.

2) Unless there's a law specifically mandating that the weapon be properly secured, it's absolutely fine.

3) A B&E followed by theft is obviously a million times worse than not locking up a gun.

Eh, the list didn't look that interesting but at least they had the Gauntlet remake for $5 which, given that it's Steam, I had hoped to pay less for it (via a Humble Bundle or something) although it's still not terrible. I'll probably go ahead and buy it later, even though I eventually plan on getting the ps4 version down the road.

This is a medium/medium-large strip-mall store (10 long aisles across). Due to the high number of customers constantly coming in, often right up till closing, I find myself to be completely unable to complete all the tasks. Even when confined to just cashiering it's rare for me to even get ten seconds every hour to, say, take a drink from a water bottle. It's really stressing me out but there are only two non-shift leads whom are able to stay till 12 and it's been this way for seven months now. As-is I basically have to work every night except one (which they consistently try to change to being every night) and it's really stressing me out. I can't spend time with friends (working when they're off work) and I'm having trouble sleeping out of fear of sleeping through my alarm clock.

If your manager is giving you shit for not getting stuff done, give them shit for not having more people on staff. You're in retail, bro. They're ALWAYS going to try to make do with as little staff as possible.

8 hours. But before 8 we usually have 3 people in the store. And it's technically more as we're expected to finish our work but, due to customer volume and a lack of employee's we never finish by 12:30. We usually don't get to leave till 1, have to leave multiple things undone, and get lip for it the following morning. I estimate that, if we actually 'finished' everything we'd be there until 2 A.M. It's just not possible to get it done any sooner with the number of customers we have before closing.

Are you getting paid for working that extra time? If not, report it to HR and, if that doesn't work, file a labor complaint with the state. When I worked retail and I was scheduled to a certain time, I would only work the extra if I was clocked in and getting paid for it. If they asked me to clock out, I left.
