Used to live there. Would prefer not to go back.

I usually prefer someone like Lucy Rose when I want to listen to a singer with a more understated voice/style.

IMO, people are inflating just how great the original series is in their heads. It's always been a fun space opera pew-pew franchise heavily reliant on impressive special effects, a vaguely interesting background history and a memorable score that does more to set the tone than the awkward dialogue or oddly-strung-together plot.

I don't think any serious look at the original trilogy will place it at the same low level as the current trilogy. But regardless, if you are okay with the series staying at the same point it was at in the 70s and 80s, that's on you.

This entire trilogy is walk out of theater bad.

The most you can get out of it is some pretty visuals.

Though to be fair, I wouldn't have seen ot in the first place if I hadn't been with friends.

It's no wonder so many of these cases don't go anywhere when the prosecution is literally being burdened with proving a negative.

The New Testament did away with the "the punishment for literally everything is death" mentality of the Old Testament (it was relatively progressive after all). Still not a good moral standard though.

The Bible should not be used as anyone's basis for morality.

It's bad, but bad in the same way that Dragonball Super was bad, or the end of GoT is bad.

Plenty of fans will ignore how bad it is as long as the right things are included.

I don't believe or follow it simply because I haven't seen any good reason to.

It was bad, but people are right. It's not unusually bad for Star Wars movies. It's the normal amount of Star Wars bad, just extra rushed.

A lot of RoS is desperately trying to cover up their awful story with blatant fanservice.

I don't think it's a fair statement to reduce "what men want in life" down to sex.

More that any reality in which enough people vote for democrat senators to give them the majority is a reality where the president will also be a democrat.

Voting to impeach could be seen more as the democrats attempt to rally their own base just before the 2020 elections rather than a legitimate effort to get Trump out of office. Because the odds of the latter happening are practically zero.

So no, it's not and never was considered a U.S. State under international law (at that time) and (later) the UN. But if you're the type who believes that the U.S. has no obligation to follow international rules/laws, then sure, Hawaii is considered a U.S. State.
But then it would be hypocritical to think that Russia or Israel can't do the same in ignoring international laws.

It has nothing to do with what I think. Hawaii is accepted as one of America's states. We can argue whether it should be or not, just like we can argue whether Israel should be considered a country, but that won't change how they're generally viewed now.

It won't mean anything unless it goes to trial and 2/3rds of congress vote to get rid of him.

It's the difference between the "issue" date and the "release" date. It may just be the result of a series continuing for such a long period of time, but the two have been diverged for a long time now.

It is certainly innate because (supposedly...) society only "gives" it to those born in a certain group. What society determines is precisely which group of people are BORN into privilege, and which aren't, which group of people have and don't have INNATE privilege.

Of course society doesn't really do any such, because it can't. Because there's no such thing as innate privilege (again, sigh, other than perhaps socioeconomically).

Now I'm the one that wonders whether you even understand your own concept! But it really is as that other user said, once you have no response there's absolutely nothing left for you to do but continue to claim people don't understand you. How disappointing.

You were implying that people treat it as being innate while at the same time making an allowance for socioeconomic situations. They are the same in this case.

There's no such thing as innate privilege (again, setting any possible socioeconomic privilege aside) because there's no such thing as innate disadvantage. People who suffer discrimination aren't born in any way shape or form less fortunate than those who don't (except of course some true physical disadvantage). To suffer discrimination is not a "disadvantage", it's not some sort of "tragedy" or even any sort of special condition. To view it as such is already discriminatory. That's bigotry, that's ignorance, it does the complete opposite of removing discrimination, it rationalizes it, it solidifies it, it arms it to use one of your own phrases, it's adding to it, it's setting it up as worthy of any sort of consideration and understanding. You're not "advantaged" or "privileged" over someone just because there are people who consider their natural state inferior. And if you believe so, you're a bigot.

And having both parents isn't some sort of privilege or advantage. You can say that someone raised with a single parent or orphaned is disadvantaged, fuck even relatively "underprivileged", "less" privileged than someone with both parents if you want to force the point. But that's a socioeconomic issue, and that's not how the word is used. Privilege by definition is an advantage, it's not just a "neutral" statement. A privilege is something that sets a group of people above or even just apart from others. It's not just a lack of a disadvantage.

I am not "fortunate" because I don't belong to this or that group that suffers prejudice. If I thought so I'd really be a bigot. Oh hey, thank goodness I'm not gay.
