Corporations have been using loopholes to avoid paying taxes for decades. This isn't something that started with Trump.

Many corporations pay less tax than middle class citizens.

Politicians on both sides are aware of these loopholes but both are unwilling to do anything about them.

The argument for keeping the loopholes is if the U.S. won't give the corporations these massive tax breaks than another country will and they'll move there. Whether you agree with that argument is up to you.

Although the reason politicians allow it is likely because corporations provide more than significant contributions to their campaign funds (again, both sides).

Technically, anything can become addictive, if someone chooses to highly prioritize something over other things in their life that are more important.

That said, many games with micro transactions are intentionally designed to be addictive and pray on people with gambling habits.

It's not something I can personally understand, I don't get any highs from loot boxes, and I can't imagine ever sitting in front of a slot machine for entertainment.

But obviously, there are people this is very additive to, because some people do spend tons of their money on loot boxes, and people do sit in front of slot machines for hours on end.

The democrats are well aware they won't be able to impeach Trump.

This show is just so they have something to talk about come election time.

But the democrats are making a mistake.

They lost the previous election because people hated politicians more than they did Trump. Even the Republican Party was surprised Trump won candidacy, that wasn't supposed to happen in the first place. They were all surprised how much they were hated that people choose Trump over them.

If they want to win, they need to focus on improving their own reputation, and the reputation of of politicians in general, rather than just attack Trump the whole time, which already didn't work the first time.

According to leaks, they are straight retconning some things, but that's still not enough.

The most reasonable thing they could probably do is be a transformers movie with lots of good CGI but a completely nonsense plot, and that'd still be terrible.

The issue is most of the systems proposed don't actually come close to accomplishing that, and are selling a fantasy that doesn't exist with a system that doesn't work.

It's like, communism in theory, would work if everyone was equally caring for everyone, and world work hard solely for the betterment of mankind.

If we are comparing it capitalist Japan, many people can't afford the time to commute home and instead sleep in a hotel close to their office because they can't get their work done otherwise.

If you are suggesting every government should just enforce socialism, which is not enforceable so it's only hypothetical, than there would be a complete stifling of growth, which is always the trade off to socialism even when its self sufficient.

Most governments exist in one of 2 ways.

Being in the pockets of corporations because they rely on getting money from them.

Or being a totalitarian regime.

So in that case having a economic structure that allows growth is the lesser evil.

Or you could be China, and be a totalitarian regime that forces personal economic growth through abuse of power.

That fact of the matter is, at current, innovation without the incentive of great personal rewards is a fantasy. A vast majority of people are not motivated to improve to help strangers.

John Conner being killed meaninglessly in the first 5-10 minutes, completely nulling-and-voiding the events of Terminator 1 & 2 does happen.

This is in service of recreating the exact same terminator plot with a new chosen savior and a new AI overlord that also made skeleton robots despite being a completely different AI.
