Curious to see SNY's MLB the Show version of the Mets 2020 Opening Day because it looks like it's being casted by Gary, Keith, and Ron. Starts in about a half hour I think.
Never mind they only did the preview of it.

I don't necessarily hate having more teams in, I hate having an entire bye round and I hate the dumb proposal to let the higher seeds pick their opponent. This isn't pro wrestling.
Kind of the opposite for me. My main hold-up with this is the increased number of teams. I guess the idea of it cheapens the playoffs for me, but I can't really come up with any concrete reason why I dislike it either. But being able to choose opponents is a really interesting aspect of it to me. Granted it also seems really gimmicky.

That's just old timer talk tbh. Playoffs are fun, when we get down to the final few teams it will be just as awesome.
That is true, because MLB playoffs are inherently fun and I don't think there's anything too disastrous they can do to change that. I think there's still some legitimate issues with the idea though, like the one addressed in the tweet Wigs posted.

So looks like the original Betts trade got scrapped and turned into two separate trades. Verdugo and Jeter Downs for Betts and Price. And then the Twins are trading Graterol to the Dodgers for Maeda.

Pretty funny that the Red Sox have a guy named Jeter now.

He definitely does not deserve to be called a snitch, and it's the people who are doing that who are all about "gamesmanship" and stuff that I believe to be garbage not just in baseball, but in sports. Play fair, and follow the rules. You are right, all in all he did still come forward, which was the right thing, but it absolutely does matter to me if you do the right thing for the wrong reason. Perhaps we just disagree on that. He doesn't deserve hate for coming out with it, but he also doesn't deserve to be treated any better than any of the other players.
Fair enough. This is an issue baseball fans are pretty passionate about, so you can understand why he's being given such high praise.

He only brought it up in the first place because it served his new team's interests, he didn't do it out of some desire to see cheaters brought to justice. He was just as willing to cover it up until it benefitted him most.

Whatever his reasons were for coming forward are irrelevant. It was the right thing to do. If you don't want to praise him for it, that's fine. But he also shouldn't be treated like crap for his decision. Like being called a snitch and the like.

I disagree. Both XCOMs are generally fair games. Like I said, the impact that RNG has should be minimal. As for aliens spawning behind you, sounds like a bug. Unless you're referring to aliens that just end up behind you as they patrol. That's on you to keep track of.

Never could get into XCom. Getting screwed all the time is not fun.
If you're getting screwed, 90% of the time it's probably your fault. RNG is a factor in the game for sure, but that's why you work around it. Every turn your goal should be to make all the moves you can to minimize the impact the RNG has. That's why tools like explosives are so valuable, because they're usually guaranteed damage. You don't play the game by running your soldier up to a piece of cover and firing. You're supposed to put some thought into your engagements. When you engage the enemy, what attack you open up with, and the positions your soldiers are in when you activate a pod are all very important. If you do those right, most of the time things will go smoothly.

Also, both modern XCOM games become significantly easier midway through the game when your soldiers start gaining incredibly powerful abilities. Yes, even if you play damn near perfectly you can't eliminate the RNG entirely. There's still always the chance your soldier misses a 99% shot. But oddly that potential for a screw-up like that can make things really exciting sometimes.

I enjoyed Dishonored. Just felt that the stealth/non-lethal path was a bit dull.

Like, you get all these fun toys like the razortraps but you're not allowed to use them because they're lethal.

They did recognize that was a problem pretty quickly, since the first DLC for Dishonored did introduce a couple more non-lethal options. And then Dishonored 2 improved non-lethal play drastically.

I have never believed in God. Not a single day in my life. I remember being in 2nd grade and going to what my school called the little church on wheels where they talked about God and thought it sounded made up. I have literally never believed in God. However ever since i was 18 and became better at thinking I realized you have to be an idiot to "know" God is fake. I have been an agnostic now for 12 years.

Being an agnostic really opens your mind to possibilities, and doesnt limit your thinking. Being an agnostic you are capable of judging people based on merit and not simply label people and just write them off.

I have never heard anyone else say this, but I am so NOT a believer in creation/religion i actually literally do not believe the Big Bang actually happened. My opinion on the Big Bang is that if you can actually convince me that the Big Bang is real then you just convinced me that God is real. From nothing everything came into existence? What more of a divine intervention can you even conceive? Now don't get me wrong, like anything related to theoretical science i am capable of talking about it as if it were real, but that doesnt mean I actually think it happened.

Science does not discount religion, AT ALL. We used to think that science would answer all of our questions about life, the universe, and everything but as science has progressed we have only gotten more questions than answers. Anyone who knows even a little bit about quantum mechanics knows just how weird, and literally magical our modern understanding of physics is. Will we eventually have a scientific answer to quantum mechanics? Possibly. But there is no end in sight currently. But in 2019 the year of our lord science has done nothing to disprove religion. If anything it has done more to prove religion is a real possibility.

It took me a long time to realize what intelligent design actually was, as this was smeared as just someone throwing a bible at you in schools, but intelligent design is an actual and legitimate scientific field of thought. Everything in intelligent design is done with the scientific method and is by definition actual science. I am not advocating for the theory itself, but it is interesting.

I like learning about all sorts of things. I dont like hating people. Consider being agnostic instead of low tier IQ noob who thinks they know everything.

It always frustrates me when people defend atheism harder than religious people defend their religion. Like can you not see you are acting in the exact way you claim to hate how the religious people act? Take a chill pill and realize you dont know everything
Probably a troll post, but atheism isn't the same thing as anti-religion. Atheism is simply the lack of belief in a higher being. There's nothing else to it.

And remember, people who are anti-religion may be annoying on the internet, but compare that to the thousands of atrocities committed in the name of religion over the course of human history.

Kinda.

Agnostic isnt even really a thing, in the sense people use it at least. Gnosticism deals with knowledge, theism deals with belief.

Agnostics dont know if there is a god. Atheists dont believe there is a god (and its worth noting thats not the same thing as believing there is no god, its just not believing in a god). So, given no one can KNOW, we technically are all agnostic (though some would surely declare god as a fact).

Asking the question do you believe in a god should be a yes or no question, because answering no doesnt mean youre positive there isnt a god. You either believe in a specific god or you dont. The misconception is that people think being atheist means you have absolutely ruled out with 100% certainty no god exists, which is just not the case.

If you dont specifically believe in a specific higher power, youre an atheist. People have conflated that word with being more hardline than it is.
People also don't want to be associated with some of the more annoying/outspoken atheists out there, so they figure agnostic is a safer label to use instead.

The Grenade Launcher can also EMP vehicles/drain enemy shields. Instead of firing a shot that bounces and explodes, you can hold the fire button down to launch a grenade that you detonate manually. And that shot is the one with the EMP. I think the game does actually tell you about that at the beginning of Tip of the Spear when you start with the Grenade Launcher. I'm not sure if the game mentions the Plasma Pistol's ability to disable vehicles though. It was an ability introduced in Halo 3, so if you played that campaign and knew about the mechanic from there, you'd know about it in Reach too most likely.

By the way, the Plasma Pistol is one of the best weapons in the series due to its utility. The overcharge shot disables vehicles, so use it on a Ghost and then walk right up to it to get an easy hijack. Should help you avoid getting splattered.

They haven't ruined Star Wars. The sequel trilogy is a disappointment, but Solo and Rogue One were good movies. I think they need to explore some new time periods in the Star Wars universe. Ideally they should start creating stories that take place before the prequels. I'm not saying they need to completely adapt KOTOR into a movie or series of movies, but that certainly would be an interesting era of Star Wars to show audiences.
