Manuals aren't too bad to learn overall and can be more fun at times than automatic. I don't, however, get the superiority complex that surrounds them. If I ever bought a manual transmission vehicle, it would likely not be a daily driver (I do primarily city driving).

I think there's at least some correlation. My son isn't quite yet 4 and he is pretty decently ahead of his 5 year old sister (no biological link to me) academically.

At the core, we naturally seek out what is attractive or that which appeals to our instinctual drive as providing the best chance at biological succession. Now when it comes to pedophilia or hebophilia, there's probably some sort of either genetic fuckup or some environmental influence (such as a messed up childhood) that leads to that.

I don't think finding someone relatively close to, but not yet at, legal adulthood as attractive is something under which a person should be branded a pedophile. The important factor there is knowing the limits and boundaries. I certainly agree that the people keeping countdowns are on the strange side, as it's unlikely they'll ever have a chance.

Unfortunately it seems pretty common. Anyone remember the B-Dubs manager recently who died after two cleaning chemicals were mixed? All this stuff is preventable if places don't skimp on proper training.

I had an English teacher my junior year of high school who was known for the difficulty of her class. She still did spelling tests, which was nice because it was kind of an easy way to prop up our grade. She was hardcore on the literature though. We would get a book to read over the course of a few weeks and a huge packet to go with it. I remember The Crucible having like a 28 page packet. A few of the answers would be straightforward but the vast majority was "read between the lines really hard" type stuff. We often had random assignments that would be worth like 10 points, I'm pretty sure the spelling tests were either that or 20. Everything was dink and dunk, but by the end, our grand total was out of like 2700. It was crazy. I did scrape out a low B but it was by far the most work I ever had to put into an "English" class.

I had an intro to computers teacher that gave entirely random participation grades. Guy was full of himself too, he would spend half the class bragging about how much a different college was paying him to teach there. The girlfriend I had at the time, we both had the exact same attendance and exact same participation level. She ended up with 90/100, I got 10/100.

Then I had a history class where there were basically two tests and 2-3 quizzes for the entire grade of the semester, an entire 100 points available. We would have to read 80+ pages per week and from my memory, the quizzes would cover the most obscure items for the most part. I was always the type to take extra note of anything hold, with a headline, etc... Had a few Middle Eastern students and I knew it was bad when they were struggling. I'm pretty sure on the first two quizzes I totaled like 7/20, and I didn't even go to the final because after doing the math, I needed like 96% on that just to avoid outright getting an 'F'. This was intro to history.

I feel like the America we have today is far from the strongest America we have ever had.

And so many people eat up the "economy is booming" pile. Sure, if you're well-invested into the right stocks with a decent amount of money, yeah.

The things that man child says and does are typically an embarrassment to the country and to the office of the presidency.

IIRC, Boomers were born between 1946-1964 or something.

Millennials I want to say like 1981-1994 or 1996. I don't recall, but I think the term is very commonly misplaced either way.

I think what's going on is the same generational "disgust" towards gen Z or whatever the new up and comers are, that boomers had/have with millennials. It's all kinda stupid, no matter who you talk to, everything was better in the older days when you had to face more hardships head on that we hadn't engineered a way around.

I mean, let's look at air conditioning. Older boomers probably pretty commonly had to deal with interior climate control that is shit by today's standard. I know I had crappier climate control as a kid than my kids have now. I don't think that makes any of the parties more or less badass, it's just, if you don't need to live like it was 30 or 60 years ago, why should you, or why should one be shamed for *not* doing so?

Looks like my ex-lady got cute and decided to have our girl tell me "I don't like you, you're a dumbass."

That dumb broad hasn't communicated with me for eight months. Our girl (not mine biologically but I have functionally been her dad since she was four weeks old and I've been the only stable parent in her life for the last 19 months) won't be five years old for another two months.

Bitch doesn't realize it but she has vastly accelerated how quickly I am going to get my aforementioned pursuits going, and how uninhibited I am in going scorched Earth on her if she tries to get cute again.

Only times I have done anything remotely like that was not coming in for five incidental covers earlier this year; they were on weekdays and I had my kids, and I wasn't about to try to get my babysitter to either come over at 2:30AM or stay until 7PM. Luckily, we have a point system, you only get dinged if they actually report your lack of cover (which they often won't do if they like you) and I am generally well liked.

Well this only happens if you rush into things and don't use proper judgement. Yup, there's a lot of trash out there but if you really hold out you will find someone awesome that you will want to spend every cent possible to make her and the family happy. She will be by your side until the end like it should be.

You just have to stand up, be a man, be independent, be strong and you will attract a life long partner and you will both be happier than you've ever been. If you're a wuss and show insecurities she will leave you. I'm sorry but that's how the female mind is programmed by nature. From there you just need extremely good common sense and sharp judgement to to avoid the women that are braindead/ruined by the system. It's pretty obvious if you talk to them for 10 minutes.

True in large part, but not always. Mine left mainly because she saw the combination of our kids as draining her hopes of freedom, my working my ass off to make our future better seeming endless, and she encountered a coworker at her place of employment with basically a mirror image mindset of her own, except he didn't have kids. When that all happened, I was the perfect, guilt-free ticket for her to dump the kids and run off.

My kids' mother thinks I owe her paying for her vehicle after she left us and married some loser, but I'm going to have a LOT of fun playing this game.

First comes the contempt of court for not giving me her contact information.

Then comes the lawsuit for the vehicle as well as money I have paid for it in the last year. I may not get the money, but the vehicle is in both names and I have paid more than the last year's payments on it.

Concurrently, the petition for guardianship of her daughter. She has functionally been a package deal with my son, and I haven't heard from her mother in 8 months, I think that constitutes enough "abandonment" to get me the legal ability to insure her and get her healthcare/schooling next year, especially since their grandmother has made no attempt to try to alleviate the situation.

End stage, if all else fails, and I may go this route anyway despite not really needing it for the most part, would be filing for child support.

That's some reality there.

Luckily for me, I'm on the right side of things, especially as far as having a wealth of evidence on my side. I save quite a few conversations, and she lives out of state and crosses a toll road to enter the state, so I can tell every time she enters or leaves the state to see the kids, and for how long.

I went with a purchase myself, my previous was renting a 350 square foot studio for $550 a month. Got my house (1300sf, 3 bed 1.5 bath, 1/3 acre lot) with basically nothing down for $680 a month.

In my locale, renting is generally much more expensive per square foot than buying.
