That's legitimately not her? I feel like she could be a stand-in if they wanted a scene where Leia steps into a space ship that goes boom. How did they write her character out, anyway? I haven't watched Star Wars since Rogue One.
They used left over footage of her from TFA in TRoS. This is very spoiler heavy going forward.

Luke died in TLJ after using the Force to project himself across the galaxy. Leia did a similar thing in TRoS where she reached out to Kylo Ren from her planet to another moon of Endor, as he was going to win against Rey. He heard her say Ben, which resulted in him dropping his lightsaber, and Rey grabbing it and stabbing him.

Leia died the second the lightsaber went through him and once Rey healed Kylo Ren, he had a vision from Han, where he finally turned back to the light.

I'm curious where you guys think they could have taken things after TLJ without also being a problem.

So what? Kylo Ren is the big bad in the end and she either brings him back to the light or kills him? How would that be much different from Vader?

At this point, the whole "going into the Force" and "will of Whills" original plan that George Lucas had for the ST would have been taking way more risks.

That's fucking ridiculous. Why is he getting the credit and not Bob Iger?
Because he's not really involved in Marvel. He's working on a higher level to get all the different presidents and chairmen and whatnot to work together to keep Disney as a whole going forward.

And he's gotten A LOT of credit for that. Did you see his recent $66 million compensation package for all the Disney success for just a single year?

It's not that she's bad as a producer or anything. The point is that she is the president of Lucasfilm, and till Solo, there's been a really hands off approach by the Disney higher ups. Everything goes through her for SW.

Like with the MCU, Kevin Feige gets the credit and everything goes by him, because he's the president of Marvel Studios. He gets everybody to work together and weaves the structure.

Sean Bailey gets shit for all the garbage live action Disney films we've gotten in the past decade because he's the president of Walt Disney Pictures.

Likewise, Edwin Catmull was highly praised as president of Walt Disney Animation/Pixar for almost 3 decades of hits. Jim Morris replaced him a few months ago and who knows how he leads things.

All 4 report to Alan Horn, who reports to Bob Iger. But for the most part, they have a lot of independence. The only actual involvement by them stated publicly is getting Kevin Feige to cross over into Lucasfilm to make a SW. Considering how fucking busy the guy is with the MCU, it seems like a desperate and kind of condescending move.

"We're gonna get another division's president to help"

Tbf, Steven Spielberg is pretty much the brains behind most of those.

Also to note that Spielberg, Lucas and Kennedy are very old friends and none of them have really done anything that great in the past decade. Spielberg was just involved with Cats, and that shit is flopping hard.

And when they fell, iirc, Palpatine broadcast the video of his arrest by Windu by manipulating it to seem like they were indeed taking over.

I think after that, they might possibly do Episodes 10-12 and do George Lucas's original idea for the ST, which was very different from what we got.

Essentially, every single person can give this movie a 7 or above and the movie would get a 100%. This says 14% gave it below 7. This is no way says that 8.6 or 86% is relevant in any way to quality of the movie. It's just a BS mind trick statistic that RT uses.

Kathleen Kennedy. Her equal over at Marvel, Kevin Feige carefully executed everything, and she had the same responsibility and failed.

Even after all this, she was still giving D&D issues with control till like 3 months ago and they just said fuck it and left.

Essentially, she was personally picked by George, not Disney. I don't think he's someone to trust in these matters. Lucasfilm was just replaced with a female version of George, since she's both George and Speilberg's very good friend.
