Downfall

I don't usually enjoy war movies but that one was particularly memorable. Excellent acting performances, especially from Ganz of course.

Absolutely know what you mean. One of the final things I'm still learning are the many names of the various fielding positions. Probably one of the quickest ways to learn is to watch a T20 or an ODI world cup. The commentary of these events is usually aimed at a general audience and they do a great job of explaining what is going on. Test cricket is the one which makes things quite complicated with the addition of declarations and more advanced fielding setups according to the state of the pitch.

Depends on the exclusives you're interested in (and maybe whether your old gamertag carries over). The Xbox One and PS4 aren't too different, not sure why Xbox gets such a bad rap this generation. I would have gotten a PS4 (to be able to play online with a friend who has one) but went for an Xbox One instead for the Forza Horizon series. You could make a good argument for the Switch too, especially if you're interested in the Mario games.

XIII is a piece of poop, but XIII-2 is a top Final Fantasy. I was shocked to discover this!

Haven't played Lightning Returns yet but it sounds like it could be up my alley.

Interesting, my opinion is the exact opposite. XIII is my tied third/fourth favourite (along with VIII) but XIII-2 felt too convoluted with the time travel plotlines (although the addition of capturing monsters was awesome).

The World as Will and Representation about a year ago. It's one of those books so brilliant you keep coming back to it.

Oh never mind it's only about 700 pages apparently. I guess if you combine both volumes together that counts, 1400 pages.

Great, thanks for the recommendations. Kasparov has a reasonably large collection of books so it's tough to work out where to start with his biographies etc.

In terms of chess, what I find absolutely incredible is that the top rated woman is approx. the 169th (URS) best player in the world. I've been watching the latest womens' tournament being held in Monaco recently. It was pretty disappointing to find out that most of the players competing there are 'only' about the 300th-800th best players in the world (of course that's still a worthy feat to achieve). As someone who is reasonably new to chess I assumed these top women I was watching were in the top 100-200. Really fascinating that there is such a huge divide between men and women at the very highest level.
