He was on the show a few years ago with the same host and they had this issue where he flat out told them he didn't want to listen to a clip from whatever movie he was promoting and explained why. So at best, they couldn't do their homework about a guy they had already interviewed and had this same situation pop up. But i think the missed connection between both sides of this argument is that, with regards to your specific physical desires: Height and weight and breast size are actual measurable factors. You can see a person and determine those things. But race, you can't always do that. You can have a 100% white person look darker than a lot of black people and also have a black person be lighter than most white people. Race, as biological and sociological concept, is not neat and tidy. It's wide ranging, diverse, and not easily definable. So when someone says they won't date x-race, that's where people drop the racist-label since it boxes so much inner-diversity. It's not about white liberals being offended on black mens' behalf. Well I mean there are probably people that are doing that. But specifically for this topic and some of the responses, I think it's more them pointing out that race isn't like the measurable (hair color, eye color, height, weight, etc..) TLDR: People are not saying it's racist to not have a preference for lighter skin or darker skin or wrong to have height/weight preferences. Which brings me to you avoiding Next and State of Fear. Those are shit. Andromeda Strain is interesting enough but it's a slog to get through. Space it out of you read it. Most of the other responses are kinda how I feel. I felt Disclosure was at least fine and I really liked Timeline. Also! The Great Train Robbery is his best. If you like heist films, you should read it. It's obviously less dense than his scientific works.
