With the gaming community being the way it is if you don't get a screenwriter and director who actually enjoy games or are gamers themselves video game movies will almost always be bad.

I don't expect a 100% accurate recreation of the game into film but if you stray really far from the source material then what is really the point?

The anime version was actually pretty good. It didn't have crazy high steaks or tension but it had a lot of heartwarming moments that brought a lot of closure for some characters.

Just get SFV (It's on sale for like $8 I think?) then buy the Championship Edition Upgrade kit. You will instantly get every character that has been released and will get the last two when they come out, just about every stage, and more costumes than you will know what to do with.
