Since I know you live in Texas I'll try and find some for you, best to do a search in your area and call a few, might not automatically be free, but they may have scholarships/work programs etc that make it free.

Thanks dude! What kind of scholarships?

First I'd check for free trade schools in your area and see what they offer. It might be worth going to a free one even if it's not the exact career you want long term, as long as what it offers pays well.

At 19 I went to Vallecetos CET in Hayward CA which was free, lasted 9 months (8 hours a day) and I got my Electronic Techs degree. I was able to instantly get a job paying 13$ an hour (which was pretty much 3x min wage at that point) and got a raise fairly soon afterwards.

During the 9 months I worked graveyard at Carl's Jnr to pay for my housing/food expenses but the actual school cost nothing (not even any books).

Those are available most places as long as your a resident, so try and find something similar now if you can. I know many offer programming courses etc today, they have pretty much always offered management and secreterial training etc as well. CNA training etc is also common.

But it all boils down to what is available near where you are, unless your willing to relocate.

Free trade schools!? I didn't even know that was a thing lol

Electrician is always useful. Same with Information Technology, Brick Masonry, HVAC Technician, Welding, Automotive Mechanic, and Plumbing.

Thank you for your response. How long would I have to go to be an auto mechanic and do they get paid well?

Boxing, though it's not as awesome as it was back in the day. I watch a lot of older fights.

Where I can get paid decent but don't need to spend years in school. I was thinking maybe locksmith.

After I get out and start getting paid decent, I was thinking of going to a college to study one of my real passions, utilizing my decent pay to help pay for school.

What is a good trade to pick up?
