besides the joycon drift (which started earlier this year about 5% of the time or less on my left joycon, launch system) I think it is easily the best hardware design nintendo has ever made. Just needs a few more heavy hitters to compliment the wealth of great smaller scale games and it will cement itself as their best console.

Buy it if you like exploratory game design. Don't buy it if you often find yourself unable to enjoy games that don't fit into a certain structure. I.E. if you need a certain amount of action and fast pacing in games, or commonly refer to critically acclaimed games as "boring" or "tedius" skip it.

First stage of the game is good, middle is tedious, final sections are great. I'm finishing it up now after playing it on and off since release, finishing the Act 4s and tackling the 4 gods for their advanced classes is really cool, I think if there was 8 advanced classes with a middle tier being obtainable midway through the game would have gone a long way for the midsection tedium.

I respect it mainly for some of the best puzzling and intricate combat from Square Enix in a while, while falling short on story flow and pacing. Falls short of being great overall, but definitely a better showing as an RPG compared to anything not named Dragon Quest we have gotten from square in a while. Much like Bravely Default, Octopath takes a lot of steps in the right direction (but plants its feet in a few pitfalls along the way).

yea, old captain america doesn't make sense with their earlier established time magic rules, but the time magic wasn't consistent in Doctor Strange, so as soon as time magic was the decided method in endgame, I expected it to be goofy.
