you know, i kinda figured keeping the tense in the present would intimate that i was talking about, uh, the present.

i really doubt anyone else is going to be as petty and obtuse about it.

you're wrong, dude. if anything, i'm disappointed the pats can't serve ls as well as i can.

like why on god's green earth would i be talking about literally every super bowl ever. come on, dude. i feel like i'm picking on you.

I estimate that someone who believes that 20% is roughly equivalent to 50% has absolutely no fucking clue how to maths.

given that i said 'appearances' and i was quite clearly talking about the brady era, i think maybe our reading comprehension is a little weak :/

because they've been to 11. that's about half.

you okay? you're awful upset over this. deep breaths bud, the pats lost, you didn't.

again chill. they were 11-5 last year (which is worse than this year) and they won the super bowl. we'll see what happens lol.

doesn't really make a difference from here. you guys really are desperate for anything.

i don't think this should bother any pats fans because like think about it it's a huge deal when they lose that's a really good thing actually. it's like what kevin millar said that one time, only inverted. the fans boo because they want to cheer, normally, but today they got to cheer because they wanted to boo. shit's deep.

coming into this game i wasn't exactly expecting them to win it either. this didn't surprise me. miami has always had a little bit of a whammy on brady. i remember this one time he threw an interception from his ass, and he had like four that day.

this guy gets it.

it's weird; it seems like it's a bigger deal for fans of other teams when the pats don't make the super bowl than it is for pats fans when we do.

you can tell the bad teams get really pumped to play them and pretend they're in a super bowl, too.

Is Brady bad this season? I don't watch football.

no. the offensive line is a shitshow and our receivers actually just sort of suck for now.

it looks worse than it actually is; coming in to this game, the pats had scored 39 offensive touchdowns, putting them behind teams like the chiefs and saints by very little (both had 43). this, i think, indicates a situation where receivers mildly suck at actually getting open. the pats had 16 rushing touchdowns at that time yet could only manage 3.7 yards per carry to that point. i think that's really telling of what they've been forced to do in the red zone.

there was a lot wrong in that game and i'm not putting it on brady at all. they mismanaged themselves out of the chance for at least three points going into the half, and that decision came back to bite them.

doesn't help when your top corner gives up (at one point) 5/100.

this entire season has featured a 'let's be cute' approach to running the ball and it sucks. north and south, ffs.

cant see the pats going to the super bowl losing to the fins.

the pats went 11-5 last year and lost to the fins, happen to remember how that one turned out at all or nah? lol.

i mean, you're trying to suggest i don't thank other people, now. you're so done.

i thank other people and i hold doors open too, and get this: i don't pitch a fit if they forget to thank me. because you know, i'm not waiting for a chance to defend myself. i don't have this defensive and tiny attitude of I'm not your fucking doormat going in to the door-hold.

i want to re-post your snippet because now that we're on page 2 i think it's easier to ignore. but you literally said this:

I don't expect them to just sweep past me with their nose in the air as if I'm some mere lackey who's only giving them their due. I'm being nice, but I'm not your fucking doormat.

you actually said that. you are actually that small.

But somehow, I sense that's not really the answer you're looking for.

well, there was a lot of this:

I don't expect them to just sweep past me with their nose in the air as if I'm some mere lackey who's only giving them their due. I'm being nice, but I'm not your fucking doormat.

it really made me think that you pulled that 'you're welcome!' shit, too. blame me. your attitude is awful.

you already have this vivid mental picture of me offering to buy drinks for girls I don't know in bars and getting angry when I'm refused. Am I right?

and no, but again, read that snippet and tell me it doesn't paint a picture. you could post that on an incel forum without context and you'd get a bunch of upvotes just for the tone.

Im the type to say "yup" when people say "thank you". I heard that irritates some people. And I think it's funny that Im suppose to act a certain way to your acknowledge of my initial favor to you.

that's on them and they absolutely should just be happy with the appreciation shown.

The best way to handle people not saying thank you when you do something nice is just say you're welcome.

i think the best way to handle it is to act like an adult. it's why i taught firewerx that spell that will turn him into one once he repeats it.

do you think being snide to people will change them?

Probably because you made that up out of nowhere.

if you shout 'you're welcome!' because a person didn't thank you, you are turning your 'kind' gesture into a platform to be a jerk. needing a pat on the back for every nice thing you do is a horrible character trait.

It's simple civility to utter a word of acknowledgement for a polite gesture even if it's one you didn't ask for.

that's not wrong, but it's not exactly the point, either. there's a lot of rest-of-that-post you ignored, particularly the part where you're sitting around weaponizing being nice.

if you can't handle not being thanked for being kind, you're not kind.

repeat after me: 'they just forgot to say it and i can move on and continue living without confronting them over it'.

^^^Not at all, everyone likes their kindness to be acknowledged. It's literally the basis of manners

i don't think that's true; you do polite and nice things because they're the right thing to do.

If I hold the door open for someone, I don't expect them to just sweep past me with their nose in the air as if I'm some mere lackey who's only giving them their due

lol, i knew this would show up at some point. this is exactly what i mean. if you need to be thanked, stop holding doors for people. nobody owes you anything for doing something they never asked for, and it says a lot about you that you would weaponize your own 'kind' gesture when you don't get what you want.
