Cold weather has never made me feel like wanting to die. Hot weather has on numerous occasions.

Kind of a no-brainer for me.

You can bundle up for cold weather.
You can't do shit for 100+ degree humid weather.

This too.

Mayor Pete Buttigieg has delivered a provocative response in recent days to those who challenge his empathy with black Americans: His experience as a gay man helps him relate to the struggles of African Americans.

Oh please. It doesn't help you relate to shit other than the struggles of... gay people.

Because not everyone wants to, or is capable of it? I mean, why do people watch sports on TV instead of playing it themselves?

That being said, palates are known to change significantly between childhood and adulthood so it's certainly possible that I would find the stuff vile now.

Definitely older. In fact, I've pretty much already done that before.

I'm gradually reaching the point where I could theoretically be okay with the "half younger" option, but not quite there yet, and it would still take someone particularly mature for their age.

Same answer applies whether the OP meant "twice your age" (which would mean 66) or "half your age older" (which would mean roughly 50), since that part was unclear.

I don't call the difference of 5 "scores" (aka touchdowns in this case) to be a lead so massive in any game that it warrants a mercy rule. Maybe closer to 10 scores, or something.

5. Much like porn, music at first seems like it's easy to distinguish. But that's not true. Music isn't just a steady beat, a catchy melody, and/or rhyming words. Music can be anything and everything. A bird singing. Music. The notes of a single-stroke engine running at low RPM. Music. Music. Total silence. Music. Literally! John Cage's "4:33" is literally performers not playing their instruments for 4 minutes and 33 seconds. For there to be no music, we'd have to be deaf. All of us. No more sounds of any kind, ever!

I don't think the OP intended "music" to mean anything beyond (human) singing and instrumentation, personally. If they meant total deafness they would have just said that.

even the people acting mostly reasonable and then saying "oh they were asking for it with their blog post though" are being abusrd. there's nothing wrong with the blog post.

There is a lot that's wrong with the blog post, unless you think being talked down to and condescended to by people just because they suddenly got a lot of money elsewhere and they're now feeling safe and untouchable... is normal behavior. We have a name in the dictionary for those types of people; they're snobs, and it's not something to be proud about.

Not to mention the gross false equivalences and the whole "this isn't so bad, it could be worse; just look at all the starving children in Africa!" mentality that can be used to (crappily) defend all sorts of scummy behavior.

The guy just needs to learn to stop talking.

They're in the whole mess they're in specifically because he couldn't help but run his mouth. The sad truth is that if he had just said "we're taking Epic's deal, it was the only way we could have moved forward" there might have been some people who were disappointed but the outright vitriol would have been far, far more contained, and for a lot less effort.

At this point he only digs himself deeper and deeper. I doubt there's anything he can say anymore that will not worsen his position.

I'd say to use all that newfound cash to hire an actual PR guy because he's absolute shit at it, but instead they let said cash get to their heads, and it's too late for them now anyway. It's obvious to anyone why they only started to show their true colors underneath the cutesy exterior at the precise moment in time that they did -- it's because that was the precise moment it stopped mattering.

Nobody sane is condoning the vitriol and death threats, but really, you also can't just go a complete 180 and say that these people did nothing to fuel the flames directed against them. They were doing so ever since their initial announcement.

Wow, I really wasn't expecting that to snowball like it did.

Incidentally, it caused me to perform some casual googling and I couldn't help but chuckle upon coming across this page:

In any event, regardless of anyone's opinion on that subject, the point stands. This tweet wasn't useful or insightful to anyone, and neither would be one about the supposed wetness of water, regardless of how "correct" it might be. It's just that this tweet has the added bonus of making the tweeter come off as callous and insensitive, so, WTG I guess.

his point wasn't stated very delicately, but it is nonetheless a valid point. mass shootings are not the only crisis in America that is responsible for lives lost.

Not surprised. They're worthless.

To use cuphead as an example, that game probably never would have been as popular as it was without the difficulty. The difficulty was a huge reason why it got as much attention as it did.

And here I thought most of the attention it was getting was for its art style and direction.

An easy mode in a game where the point of it is to overcome the difficult challenge just seems odd to me. If the appeal of the game doesn't appeal to you... why are you playing it to begin with?

Because players don't necessarily agree on what the "point" of a game is. They may not even agree with the developers on what they think it is.

Pretty much every game could potentially have it said that the "point" of it is to overcome a challenge. Not everyone will agree with that. Not everyone wants to be challenged when they play a game.
