It's a 1.2 mile (1.9 km) swim, a 56 mile (90 km) bike ride, and a 13.1 mile (21.1 km) run.

I'd never done a triathlon before so a rude awakening in terms of training for three things at once. I finished around 5 hours 30 which I was reasonably happy with. I'm never going to do another one but nice thing to check off.

It's a bloody long way... I think training for a full ironman would be a full time job

I've gone with Scarlet Grace and will use it as an entry point for the rest of the series.

I'm also worried I'll lose Chaos Rings 3 like I did the earlier two when Square pulled them...

TopicDrinkers of CE what do why do people save wine for like 50 years?
Pinotage
11/18/19 1:45:04 AM
#5
50 years is nothing really.

It's worth doing proper research into a wine before aging it, leaving wine willy nilly through your house for years is a recipe for disaster. Tannin, acid, sugar etc will all contribute to aging. Cork condition, temperature, light exposure blah blah, a lot of variables.

Bad wine will rarely become good if left for a long time.

A good wine won't necessarily become great but will change for better or worse.

I enjoy running more to an extent but don't love it. I did a few marathons a few years back and tend to fall into "the zone" when I start running and the kms melt away but have yet to hit that with swimming.

The changing landscapes/dog watching makes running a bit more enjoyable.

Mad respect to the athletes who can swim 6 days a week, mentally you are super bloody tough. Back and forth, back and forth, back and forth.

Twice a week I swim my 2.5km and dread it more than any other fitness I've got on.

2 or 3 months a year during peak winemaking season it's expected we do 80-90 hour weeks.

If it needs to done it's surprising how long people can work with no complaints.

I don't live near a decent cinema so I've only seen two films from 2019 and neither was particularly good. There's lots I want to watch but they'll probably wait until next year. Anyway The Secret Life of Pets 2 was better than Men in Black: International.

I'll just stick to my old sex films I think

MIB was an utter travesty and unfortunately highlights outside of Thor that Hemsworth struggles to be a leading man.

Midsommar was great, although I didn't love the ending.

I felt the same about Hereditary. I almost wish the director (forget his name) would get a writer in instead of doing everything as he's awesome but this seems to be the weakest point.

I'm training about 15 hours a bloody week right now so all my usual podcasts aren't quite getting me through. More top shelf shit would be greatly appreciated.

For movies I listen to Mad About Movies which I love as it has the perfect mix of news and reviews.

For wrestling I've been listening to Between the Ropes. Brian Fritz is an utter dork but it's a good way to keep up with what's going on without actually watching anything.
