AC Odyssey has more or less been the only game I played during 2019, so I'd say its a contender for me.

The Last of Us also reached a level of mainstream popularity that hasn't really been felt in a long time.

I was in the theater just like "uhhh okay..wait what?"

I figured it was everyone complaining about Luke getting character development in the Last Jedi instead of fanservice and so Disney figured they needed to add fanservice so anyone would like it

I liked Rise of Skywalker. I felt everything basically made sense in the context of the movie (not any less than any other star wars story) aside from Palpatine kinda just showing up because we complained that we weren't getting enough fanservice but even then it kind of makes sense with Rey's arc at least.

Also the scrolling exposition text at the beginning was so obviously there just because its star wars and needs scrolling exposition at the beginning

The Wolverine isn't bad at all. Its just very okay, and the ending with the random poorly done silver samurai (who wasn't even in the story) hurt the appeal with a lot of fans.

Compared to Origins though, its basically Citizen Kane

Hes absolutely neither alt-right or socialist, but he also doesnt often point out some of the completely ridiculous stuff his guests say, so when he has more controversial guests like Ben Shapiro or Bernie Sanders he really just gives them a platform. And having a basically unchallenged platform for someone whos putting out actively bad information (see most of the conservative figureheads who make points out of hating the left) creates a problem for people who might be expecting something less propaganda-ish.

Sometimes its fine, his episode with Roseanne where she goes into her conspiracy theories and stuff is bat**** crazy and I dont think that would ever occur anywhere but with Joe Rogan.

With how much of a dumpster fire the SW fandom is, I refuse to accept anyone's review of the movie before I actually watch it, because there's like a 60% chance (at least) that they're only hating it cuz its cool to do so

i'm not planning to play any of those.

Maybe Bioshock and Animal Crossing, but I'm probably not going to actually get Animal Crossing. And I'll probably forget about Bioshock by the time it comes out.

Didn't they have a scene where what's left of the Resistance meets on the ship and somberly recounts that their command either died or was incapacitated in the attack?

There's also a scene where when Rose and Finn arrive on Crait and Rose sadly asks "Is this all that's left?"

Yeah its the "we're down but not out" hopeful ending of the movie.

At this point I don't think these people really watched the movie.

A lot of the time, Trains are cheaper. trains also tend to be a nice calm trek through the area and you get cool sights and all that. There's no need to go through airport security.

If you need to get somewhere ASAP I wouldn't recommend it, but a Train can fee like more of an adventure, and I'd say to debate it if you were worried about say Train vs. Bus instead of Plane.

No cuz it wasn't a fight it was a great character building moment for both Luke and Kylo that related to their arcs over the course of the movie.

That one opening scene for 5(?) where the dude takes viagara and the cat jumps on his **** and in trying to remove the cat from his privates he falls out of his window and crashes, privates first into the road, and then theres a scene at the bottom of the road, where the only thing that actually hit the ground is his **** and the guys body is just kinda... hanging above the ground (because his **** is holding him up like a tent pole)

I dont know why thats the only scene I remember, and I really wish it wasnt.

I guess its a slow news day today.

It can be. Identity politics is always a form of pandering, pretty much by definition. We all know how that sort of thing works.

But there are other ways to pander. Case in point: in this particular moment in American politics, deliberate attempts to avoid playing identity politics are often seen as pandering to straight white males. It's literally the opposite of identity politics, but pandering nonetheless.

You could argue that making deliberate attempts to avoid identity politics is more so appealing to the people who arent being focussed on with identity politics (ie. white men), as basically an excuse to flaunt about how some kind of minority is holding them back, essentially acting as another kind of identity politics, just like being straightforward about it. In the past we basically just called it appealing to demographics this isnt new

Nobody is really trying to avoid identity politics in this day and age, its just who is being targeted.

Even stuff like How I Met Your Mother had a laugh track, but it wasn't just the same "uproarious laughter" that every joke on BBT got. There was a laugh track for the big jokes, and smaller laugh tracks for little quips and stuff that felt like the natural responses to the jokes being made. BBT just does laugh tracks really badly.

It's some bullshit dude, he doesn't deserve this. It's really fucked up because I'm completely on his side and some shit like this happened to me too.

I'm a bartender, and after I clocked in, I got behind the bar and we were getting busy and I knelt down in protest against something my boss said. I was completely peaceful and within my rights to protest, but the customers kept yelling at me for drinks and I refused to speak to them, but I held strong and kept kneeling.

Guess what happened, some bullshit, I got fired! Those fuckers don't even know what freedom of speech is. I'm currently at the benefits office kneeling right now.

this is why the nfl doesnt want anything to do with colin, if his girlfriend didnt open her mouth and said something racist he most likely would have been playing already if he went back to when he was good.

Also earlier this year the Seahawks were looking at him and upon asking him if he's gonna cause any more attention, he answered "idk" which seems like a bad answer. A Yes would be better than i don't know, becasue an i don't know sounds like hes got something bad planned and can't tell you about it.

Not to mention he had a tryout with most teams like a week ago, and then suddenly changed the time and place of the tryout, so most teams didn't bother coming.

I kind of just stopped watching WWE and I don't miss it, like at all. Its not very good, and comparing it with AEW, Impact, or NWA Powerr it just doesn't stand up.

I barely watch Impact or NWA, but I've been trying to keep up with AEW each week.

Everything about the "look" of RoS is going to be awesome, just like in TLJ and TFA.

Its the plot everyone'll get up in arms about regardless of the actual plot.

Like most movie sex scenes are fine, but it needs to be at least somewhat tasteful (we've all seen a movie where the sex is literally just in there because it can be, or trying to actively push some boundary or something).

But the same can be said about violence. Like playing CoD is fine or action movie PG 13 violence where none of the violence actually is shown is probably fine, but more nasty or gross stuff (torture porn) is probably a little much.

like 2 weeks before the price drop my local Future Shop put them on sale for like 10$ more than the price drop would be, so I bought one 3 weeks early and got the ambassador games with it. Pretty damn good game collection too.

Rick and Morty is good as "Space Family Guy" but the fanbase blows it way out of proportion pretending its some ungodly perfection of television.

I've heard a lot of anime thats really good, but I've never really gotten around to watching much of it.

In terms of the total package, both the matches and the non-wrestling aspects, I think this was the best episode of Dynamite yet. The serious Cody/Jericho segment and the actions by the Inner Circle to further their feuds were all executed very well. All but one match was great in terms of in-ring action (plus the one that wasn't was still a lot of fun due to its comedy aspect) and the main event to crown the inaugural AEW Tag Team Champions was excellent.

Plus the best non-wrestling thing that happened in the whole episode was obviously the AEW debut of Sans

This. Almost felt the main event underwhelmed, if only because the entire tag tournament has been going at 150% for the last few months. Still a great match though.

Whipping out Darkseid this early is kinda dumb tbh, I'd rather see the Crime Syndicate or Legion of Doom, but they both require buildup DC refuses to do.

Starting with Darkseid did a pretty decent job in setting up the New 52 Justice League, but really all of the Justice League-tier villains are kind of lame.

The problem with star wars is that the movies are really pretty basic, but all the fans make everything vastly more complicated with all of the books and other side-media that making a movie just can't be met without criticism.

You can't make a simple basic movie like the other ones, because people want everything to be related and have convoluted connections to each other, and you can't make a super complicated convoluted movie because then the people who aren't star wars nerds won't bother with it. If one of these parties didn't spend 2 years whining about TLJ, this might be a more fair issue.

And also, JJ's mystery boxes were never going to give a satisfactory result, haven't any of you watched Lost?
