My neurologist was telling me about how people with bipolar have emotions that last a very long time while other people have emotional responses that last like 30 seconds. That's still such a weird concept to me.

Yep. I'm glad to see this. My dad was a history teacher and explained to me that the "heritage, not hate" thing does not have a basis in what actually happened with the flag coming back into usage.

*sigh*

Right about now I should mention that my brother had a history PROFESSOR who argued that slavery was invented by whites and no other culture practiced it.

I'm able to accept that people say the flag means things other than racism to them personally, but it doesn't change the fact that the flag is a symbol of hate.

Guns are absolutely the issue. You think a 20 year old could kill six adults and 20 children with a hammer?

Hell, the day after the Sandy Hook shooting there was a similar incident at a primary school in China, except due to lack of guns the guy was armed with a knife instead and went on a stabbing spree. Know how many people he killed?

Zero. He killed zero people. He attacked and wounded children and adults before he was finally subdued, but all of them survived.

There's a reason why the US, which has ~1/20th of the world's population, accounts for over a third of its mass shootings.
