Duck Tales 2 (XB1)

I figured that I would be able to go back and replay old levels to get the remaining map pieces, but as soon as I beat each level once, I was forced into the final showdown. Oh well, maybe I will go back to it in the future.
That game was my childhood <3 I know everyone prefers DT1, but I've played DT2 since I was about 4 years old. Just like Mega Man 4. Must be a blast to play through all these great NES games. :)

Mega Man 3 (PS4)

Okay, so with these being the fourth time I will be going through the NES Mega Man games, I can safely say that 3 is my favorite. It has the least amount of design BS and doesn't pad the game with 8-10 post-robot master levels.
But it literally pads the game with 4 reskins of robot master levels and then 6 Wily Stages, which is more than the 8 new levels that MM4-MM6 have and definitely more than MM1 and MM2.

Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright (3DS)

Had Fates lying around for a few years without ever coming close to beating it. Now I've finally beaten Birthright at least (still have to play Conquest, that's the original path I got, but I figured BR would be boring after CQ). Not the best FE game, that's for sure, but it's still good. BR Normal was expectedly easy, but I could see some maps/enemies being quite tricky on harder difficulties honestly. The story was decent. I'm still debating whether I should play Conquest right after, but I probably will.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (NS)

Well, after almost three years I've finally beaten it! Over time I've grown to enjoy and appreciate the game more and more every time I played it. It wasn't my kind of game initially, now I'm glad it is what it is and ended up spending hours and hours on it the last week or so.

Honestly, when I really look at its separate parts, I still think it's not as amazing as it's supposed to be. A lot of filler shrines, not the most exciting collectibles and the Divine Beasts are tiny dungeons considering the otherwise enormous scope of the game (even if the concept itself of the divine beasts is awesome). I'll forgive it the simplistic story, because Zelda games don't generally need a complex story anyway.

Still it manages to be more than the sum of its parts, and I can't really put my finger on it. I think it's the complete freedom combined with the sense of discovery of the world itself (unlike the actual collectibles like korok seeds or the many redundant weapon chests). Every piece of scenery produces a sense of wonder. And even though the rewards aren't always amazing, the fact that you know every time you explore a place you will get something at least makes you want to see what it is. I guess, compared to other open world games, this is easily the most magical one to me, even if in general it's not in my absolute top favorite games (or even Zelda games) ever.

Axiom Verge (NS)

Very good Metroid-clone. Sometimes the controls felt like they were doing their own thing, but other than that and some slow movement and backtracking, it was a very solid experience. Almost scratched that Metroid-itch, but most Metroid games are still clearly better.

Also, there were tons of weapons to find, which seemed pointless in such a short game. Many of them were clearly inferior in terms of damage and/or coverage as well.

Played it for the first time, but I had already seen playthroughs of it years ago. Still, an incredible experience that I'm glad to say I've now experienced myself. Well, aside from the annoying controls and camera, that is.

Marvel's Spider-Man (PS4)

This was so good! One of my favourites of these types of games, and I like it more than Batman: Arkham City. Incredibly fun to swing around, great and varied battle system (really surprised by all the options you have) and, most surprisingly, a well-paced and satisfying story. Usually with these open-world games, I get disconnected from the story, but not in this one.

I don't really have many negatives to say about this one. Maybe it's on the easier side (especially boss battles), it's a very forgiving game, but I've come to expect that from Insomniac Games. For some reason they just know how to keep a game fun and fast-paced throughout its entirety. After already loving the Ratchet & Clank games, now they've really shot up as a favorite developer of mine in general.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Pokemon Let's Go Eevee. The first one is not my cup of tea at all but I wanted to try it out. The second one I knew I was probably not going to like but bought it out of the hype of buying a new Pokemon game. Ended up returning it and another game to buy Sekiro.

Shantae: Half-Genie Hero (NS)

Fun, first time I've played a Shantae game. Short and sweet, I got basically everything in the game. There are a ton of extra modes, may check them out, but I think for now a one-time playthrough of this is sufficient. I liked the art, music and concept, although it did get quite gimmicky here and there in terms of level designs and concepts.

The Outer Worlds (PS4)

Just finished it. Well, beat it, at least. Did all the companion quest and almost all the sidequests. Great game, love how it kind of feels open world without it being so but is not overly large. Some people may find it short, and I guess the main story is, but honestly all the interactions outside of it is what makes the game satisfying.

Pokemon Ultra Sun (3DS)

Finally beat it, bought it about a year ago I think, but couldn't get into another Alola run. However, thanks to a few long sessions the past couple of months I have now managed to become the champion (final battle was fairly lame, weak Pokemon selection imo just like in X/Y).

I got my money's worth out of it, and it's still pokemon. Having said that, I don't really see myself returning to the Alola games anymore. I don't know why some games in the series I can keep replaying and others not so much, considering the gameplay differences aren't that big. I guess something about Alola and its forced "oh em gee Alolan pokemon are soooooo great!" vibe annoy me, even if I love island settings.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf, which I bought just a few months ago. Not because it's bad, but because I could have spent that money on a game I would actually enjoy. I know it's well received and many people find it fun and relaxing, but I just could not get the point at all, not my kind of game. At least it wasn't too expensive.

Before that, probably Xenoblade Chronicles 2, which pains me to say because I absolutely love the first XC. This one mostly because I did buy it full-priced and just could not care for it enough to justify that (and I found it slow), but I still want to give it a good try at some point...probably.

Spyro the Dragon (Reignited, PS4)

Only ever played a little bit of the original on an emulator before. Really enjoyable and relatively non-frustrating collect-a-thon. Extremely easy to 100% as well. However, I wonder if I'm gonna like 2 and 3 as well. I've noticed with these platformer-trilogy remakes/remasters I tend to like the first one and stop bothering after that, with the exception of Ratchet & Clank.

At least 3-3 was intended to be silly, absurd and funny in all aspects, putting aside if it worked or not.

2-3's premise was ridiculous, but other than that, it's not mega terrible if you can stand the characters. 4-2 is mostly a boring slog. 4-3 is just terrible in every single way, although I personally enjoy Daryan's ridiculous haircut.

Have had a few loose cigarettes in my life, mostly (always) in combination with alcohol, that's all. Think I can count them on two hands. Never bought them either.

At least I know what they're like, other than, not interested in becoming addicted to them, all the long-term risks, my clothes smelling, feeling sick in my stomach because of them, and emptying wallet after wallet to get more.

I already have alcohol and chocolate for all those things!

Can only speak for Jak and Arkham from this list, and Bionic Commando maybe if it's the NES version but I assume it isn't, so Arkham.

Arkham City was good fun, but as someone else said, I like Asylum more.

I also loved the first Jak game, nice classic platforming, but the second, ugh! I've tried multiple times to get into it, but in the end I just said screw it. It's bleak and frustrating. Maaaaybe I'll try Jak 3 at some point even if I don't finish 2, but in any case, playing Jak 2 at this point is probably not going to be much fun, so I'd go with Arkham City.

After one playthrough it used to be 1 > 3 > 2 for me, but now I think it's probably 1 > 2 > 3. I found MP2 a bit tedious initially, more so than MP3, but in hindsight I enjoyed its atmosphere much more than MP3's. Still, MP3 is very good, and at least it tries to mix things up in the trilogy (not that much) with the NPCs, non-connected worlds, motion controls etc. MP2 was basically MP1 with the tried and true Dark World concept.

The most important thing is that all three are great games, quite a consistent trilogy. Still love Prime 1 by far the most.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night (PS4)

I love Igavania games. Somehow I can't really get tired of them. Not perfect by any means, a little buggy (although nothing major at 1.03 to be honest), I personally didn't love the looks of the bosses as much this time (might not be a popular opinion, I dunno) and some of the areas at the end were a little weaker imo. But those complaints are relative, I still loved the game, love this kind of progression, and loved the soundtrack. Other than that it's classic Igavania gameplay, barely different from his Castlevania games but it didn't need to be.

Why the hell would someone go through the trouble to stuff votes on a poll on GameFAQs? Whatever the result, it's just the act that seems really sad. What has to happen in someone's life for that to be their most anticipated and enjoyable acitivity on a given day? Especially when that person does it in so many polls. There is so much you could be doing in the 24 hours you have in a day and you choose to stuff votes on a completely insignificant internet poll about video games.

Nevertheless, N64 had some top tier games, but that's all it relied on I guess. Still, the Wii U exists...
