No since nobody gave a shit about Aquaman on the level of Ariel who most 90s kids have a strong familiarity with. Many redheads have a strong affinity with her as Ariel is often the first representation of redheads that many kids see. Great, maybe there will be less autotune in these live action Disney shitfests then. There's a silver lining. I'll reiterate, Halle Bailey is talented and I'm sure she has a great voice but she shouldve been saved for Princess and the Frog or even Hunchback. My advice to Disney: Take time and actually do representations right but also introduce African or even Jamaica cultures that actually have black people in their cultural fairytales.

Hell, there is a wealth of black characters that deserve a movie instead of race swapping characters with decades of lore. There are tons to choose from starting with DC and Marvel: Moon Girl, Misty Knight, Blade, Bishop, Storm, Luke Cage, Firestorm, Batwing, Vixen, Nubia, Spectrum etc

Now then, let's talk fish. Few animals have two types of external protection. Skin, scales, fur, feathers, etc. There's virtually zero evolutionary advantages to being pale in the ocean, for that matter. That is to say, being a white fish only increases your visibility to larger predators unless you live in a habitat where you blend in with your surroundings. As mermaids are depicted as larger creatures, they'd not use camouflage. There's also the part where their hair would make it more difficult for them to swim efficiently, especially in underwater ocean currents.

Oh! And then there's the part where they're, you know, a fictional made-up species so it isn't as though the concept of race applies to them.

It's just two completely separate bands who happen to have the same lineup is how I look at it.

Once More Round the Sun and Emperor of Sand have some good songs. I like that they are experimenting with their sound and not every album sounds like Blood Mountain.
