The fact that the people whose taxes paid for these programs and who may make barely too much to qualify for them themselves while still struggling yet see people on them buying luxury items like lobster versus staples like potatoes and beef is galling.

Not saying they don't deserve to live once in a while, but only if they're paying for the luxury foods out of their pockets. Otherwise the benefits should be limited to foods that will sustain them long term versus grabbing something on the go from a convenience store or otherwise splurging.

Nope. Just want to make sure that those getting the benefits are actually utilizing them and not selling them for cash like some do with the food they buy with SNAP. I get food benefits, but I only spend them on actual groceries. I don't think people should get luxury food from food benefits. You should be motivated to find a side hustle if you want the better stuff. They're there so you don't starve to death, not so you can eat convenient overpriced shit. Know what else is inconvenient? Indeed. Food benefits should have to be spent in an actual grocery store buying food that will last at least a week versus grabbing a burrito from 7/11.

How does the government know that the food being bought at a grocery store is actually being used by those getting the benefits and not just being sold to somebody else? The ONLY way to be sure they're at least getting food to prepare and eat would be to straight up give them actual food versus cash benefits to go buy it. Even then though they might sell it.

The system is designed to help struggling people/families who desperately need food and cannot afford to feed themselves. It is not meant to be extra cash for McDonald's or Pizza Hut.

Around here, food stamp trading is wide-spread. People who benefit from the program will trade $100 in groceries for $50 in cash to go buy drugs/alcohol, and there's really nothing that can be done to stop it. The best that can be done to prevent the worst kind of abuse of the program (which is paid for by us, not 'the government') is to regulate what can and cannot be purchased with it.

Indeed. I remember as a kid when this lady dressed to the nines in front of my family whipped out the food stamp booklet to pay for her steaks and other 'higher end' food. Meanwhile we've got cheaper shit in our cart and my family paid out of pocket for it. I'm all for helping people who need help. But restricting it to just food you prepare at home and requiring an ID that has to be swiped through to make sure the beneficiary is the one buying the food would be a good first step.

I'm not missing out on anything actually as I quit trying to date 6 years ago. I did so once before but I think this time it's for good. Every woman (just about) that I've tried dating has judged me, my friends and whatever else negatively and tried to 'change' me. Last one (six years ago) knew from the start going in that I was non religious. We went out for around 3-6 months and just after V-Day she dumped me because I 'didn't believe like her'. I'm a fan of certain films, like I liked the X-Men series of films and their spin-off(s) like X-Men Origins: Wolverine. I haven't seen the proper Wolverine movie yet but I would like to at some point.

I thought the Fantastic Four movies in the early 2000's were OK but nothing to write home about. Same thing with the Iron Man movies.

The Hulk movies were....eh. I forget which one it was but one of them many of the scenes were pretty dark (as in lighting) even for home viewing.

The Spider-Man ones I haven't really seen any beyond the Raimi trilogy with Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst.

The Punisher reboot ones were OK, though it was pure stupidity for them to have put the 2004 one out at the same time as Quentin Hackintino's Kill Bill sequel. To me that, combined with John Travolta's hammy acting at the end of it kinda detracted from what was a fun, if violent romp.

However I have repeatedly (repeatedly) watched the two Deadpool movies and likely will watch the X-Force spin-off whenever it comes out. I guess I just prefer the more R rated films in the MCU as opposed to the sugary sweet sooooper hero ones where the "good guy" always saves the day.

As for the rest including the characters with a single film for them (Black Panther, Captain Marvel) I have not yet seen though I may buy them on Black Friday if they're $2-5 a pop.

I smoked a lot when I was younger. I quit and started back up a couple of times. Yet I just straight up quit one day. I was just like 'alright these are so fucking expensive, I'm out' and just smoked one last one to finish my last pack and that was it.

Although I did notice myself holding onto other items like pens and pencils at regular intervals in the same way I would've held onto a cigarette previously for at least a little while after I quit.

Only thing I'd still smoke again is an actual Cuban cigar. I always wanted to try one of them AND absinthe (booze). Those are the only things that'd bring me back temporarily to smoking and drinking as I quit both 20+ years ago.

I've listed eBay and/or Amazon selling as a way to fill out gaps in my employment history. Yes. I sold on Amazon but I've only ever BOUGHT on eBay and only a couple of things. So that portion was a steaming pile, but on Amazon I typically had the "set it and forget it" or "Ron Popeil" method to selling. I'd research my items and then proceed to put them at the absolute upper range of their combined Amazon and eBay sale prices for the past 30-90 days by averaging out the sold listings on eBay and top price listings on Amazon.

I sold quite a few things for INSANE money over what I paid for them that way while watching other Amazon sellers have a race to the bottom to undercut each other just to sell out of theirs.

I haven't been excited for it since WWE screwed up the "Invasion" angle in 2001. I've kept up on it off and on, mostly to be able to talk about it to my one buddy whose still a fan of most of it. So I know whose who and whatever but I couldn't care less about it as a whole. Although I am intrigued by what's going on with each of these newer companies.

To me AEW is gonna be WCW Lite. It'll be interesting to see for how long the Khan family will pump money into the company but if it turns out to be a money loser for them I see any libraries and/or the whole company being sold to WWE just like WCW and ECW before them.

As it is I guess there's rumblings of ROH being bought by Anthem (aka Impact), which might help with production values since whenever I've tried watching ROH I get an NWA Wildside feel, where it looks like they're wrestling in front of a bar crowd and their entrance ramp looks like one stolen off the back of a U-Haul truck.

By comparison at least Impact looked like a WCW Saturday Night show the last time I checked it out, which isn't much better but it's a step closer to looking like a national, big time promotion.

The one wild card in all of this that I'm curious to see whether or not it'll ever take off on its own on a national basis is the NWA from Billy Corgan. I mean he has the title and they've showed title changes on YouTube and stuff, but I have yet to see any real movement from that sort of format to any kind of bigger show.

Worst part was I was working the concert. So I pretty much staggered around for a whole week and remember only a few key things about that week. lol

The one time when I was at a movie theater with a friend. She had put money into a crane machine to play and this one couple's kids walk up and start going to play the game. I simply stepped to the side to get in front of the machine and blocked the kid. The parents finally paid attention and gave me this look like 'how dare I stop their lil darling from using my friends money to play the machine'.

Of course the worst, the absolute worst was much more recently. A younger couple sitting there in a fast casual (Denny's I think) restaurant letting their one little kid scream and carry on for like 20 minutes straight. No taking the kid outside or trying to get 'em to shut up. Just sitting there crying and screaming. They continued to do nothing to get the kid to quiet down as most parents will typically go outside with them or at least take them for a walk somewhere else. Nope. Didn't happen.

If you have kids and let them run wild without trying to calm/quiet them down then you should not be a parent. Period.

But the one time a couple months ago in the summer they missed it after I practically put the can in the middle of the road. Before that they took it upon themselves to sort through my recycling and tossed these foam trays we get from raw meat back in the can AND on the ground while also missing our garbage bag. Since that day I've been 'recycling' everything into the trash bag. Since they keep raising our property taxes and the county doesn't give back any of the money they make from the recycling to the taxpayers I'm not going to recycle.

I'm not loyal to any company or brand, especially the Cult Of Houser(GTA games) or Sony(PS3/PS4/etc). Defending corporations is absurd.
