I assumed post #2 was a reference to Independence Day.

Doctor Brackish Okun (played by Brent Spiner) says something like "the last 24 hours have been really exciting.".

President Thomas Whitmore (played by Bill Pullman) says something like "Exciting? People are dying out there, I don't think "exciting" is a word I'd choose to describe it.".

I thought most people would get that. Maybe I've seen the movie too many times.

They are, but they shouldn't be.

I've had them tell me that they have video evidence of and eyewitnesses to me committing a crime, a crime that I know I didn't commit. They then claim that unless I confess they'll make sure I get the maximum sentence.

I've been dealing with their bs for a long time so I know better, but some people could be persuaded to confess to a crime they didn't commit, in exchange for leniency, thinking that they'll be convicted either way.

"The Thing" from 1982 with Kurt Russell seems to be considered the best one. It's my favorite.

"The Thing" from 2011 with Mary Elizabeth Winstead is a prequel to the 1982 film. I enjoyed it.

"The Thing From Another World" from 1951 wasn't bad compared to other movies from that time. I wouldn't watch it again though.

I think the best order to watch them in is:

1951
2011
1982

The whole tournament went how I expected until the Black Dragon versus War Hawk fight. I thought it would be Minotaur and War Hawk in the finals, with Minotaur getting the win.

When Black Dragon defeated War Hawk, I still expected a Minotaur win.

War Hawk surprised me with how well they did last season but they have been underwhelming this year.

Even though Ragnarok has an axe, I still call it a hammer bot. I've never expected much from hammer bots but they just can't get that one working.

Idk what they did to Minotaur between seasons but whatever it was really fucked it up.

Good show with a couple slow fights. Looking forward to more destruction in a few weeks.

Even though I predicted a Sawblaze win, I think Blacksmith should have gotten that decision.

I also think Duck! should have won that fight against Lock-Jaw. Duck! took more cosmetic damage but Lock-Jaw was pouring smoke and lost it's weapon.

Two decisions I disagreed with but both were really close fights. Maybe the judges saw something that I didn't.

I did recognize Tantrum from last year once I noticed the fists on the sides of it. I don't think I've ever seen a weapon like that before, didn't appear all that effective though.

Rail Gun Max and Cobalt are both living up to my expectations so far, and are really enjoyable bots to watch.

Very surprised that Rotator defeated Tombstone. I think that was my only incorrect prediction this week.

Overall another great show that has me looking forward to next week and wishing that it was here already.

human beings in general; the human race.

an individual; one.

"Men" is the plural of "man".

I don't care if it gets changed, I rarely have reason to use the word. Just pointing out that "congressmen" is already inclusive.

Pretty much.

After partying for hours, Neil and Razzle decided to take a trip to a local liquor store in Neil's De Tomaso Pantera. Neil, who was drunk, lost control of the car and hit an oncoming vehicle. The two occupants of the other car were seriously injured and suffered brain damage,[41] and Dingley was killed. Neil was charged with vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence of alcohol in connection with the crash. His blood alcohol level was 0.17, well above the California legal limit at that time of 0.10.[42] In July 1986, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Edward Hinz, Jr. sentenced Neil to 30 days in jail, five years probation, $2.6 million in restitution to the victims of the crash and 200 hours of community service. Neil got out of jail in 15 days for good behavior...

Killed one person, injured two others.

Not that it is much better, but he did serve (15 days) time and $2,600,000 is much more than $175.

Bad night for my predictions, good night for enjoyable fights.

I've seen Witch Doctor lose too many fights that they (in my opinion) should have won, so I haven't put much faith in that bot. Looks like I should give them another chance.

Shatter did an excellent job as well, probably the most effective use of a hammer bot I've ever seen.

Disappointing to see Minotaur lose again. They've always been one of my three favorite bots, along with Bronco and Tombstone.

SOW vs Whiplash could have gone either way. Whiplash has the perfect weapon for dealing with SOW but had to survive long enough to use it.

I was fairly sure Tombstone would win but Jameson is an excellent driver as well, which gave me pause.

I wanted Duck to win after that bad call last season but every driver should be scared of Cobalt and that nasty spinner.

Hammer bots seem to rarely do much damage. Still glad that Blacksmith won it's fight and that Quantum lost it's fight. I didn't care for the decision of their fight against each other last week (or the week before?).
