Who's going to take care of you when you grow old?

People always say this, but unless you're Asian or from a (non-Western) culture they are most probably just going to throw you into a home to rot. It basically never works out the way everyone thinks where the kids welcome the parent(s) into their home and take care of them in their final years. I can understand it from both ways. You looked after them when they needed you, they should return the favour, right? Though at the same time, the kids are probably trying to start a family of their own and carve out their own path in life. Looking after a parent (especially a sick one) can be a burden and they might be more comfortable just letting professionals in a home take care of it.

To be completely honest, I'm struggling too much in life right now to even consider having kids. I know people still find ways of making it work and I'm sure I could do that too. I just wonder what kind of life they would have, and will they still be able to make a life for themselves in another 20+ years or will they have even less opportunities than I do now? That sort of thing. To me it's not something that I would consider a light decision to make. I won't have kids just because I think it would be cool to be a dad or because my girlfriend wants a cute baby or whatever. That's stupid. I want them to have the best possible future, and if I can't provide that, I don't really want to bother.

I still can't believe they ever did a Dragonball one (and from what I've seen, they definitely shouldn't have lol).

I don't know why, but anime and video games just don't seem to translate over to film very well despite there usually being plenty of source material.

Although, comic books have been pretty successful as film in recent years for some reason. You would think the same would apply to them.

Raids arent meant to have matchmaking. Itd be a mess.

It's already a mess if you're ever playing with even one rando. It needs to be all good friends that have played together before or nothing.

It should at least be an option for people that don't have five friends available for several hours at any given time. Could even join up with like 4-5 other people and then use the matchmaking to grab another. Just have it there, you don't have to use it if you don't want to type of deal.

It's why I stopped playing as well. Every expansion is like 2-3 hours of new missions, a new strike or two, leaves the story unfinished, then "k go do the raid now or when it's released." For something that is basically THE endgame thing it's a pretty big mistake to not even offer the option.

When the genders are flipped you don't get a whole lot of "Smh, this chick can't get a real man her own age so she has to resort to preying on a literal child!"

Most people seem to support it and some even praise the guy for being able to bed an older woman. Funny how that works, considering most would agree that males are more immature on average.

That's true, but it's also like applying for a job in a sense. If you're the only one applying for the job or the best out of a handful that do, chances are you'll luck out and get an interview (or even a job).

If you're one of hundreds of applicants and there are many, many more applicants that are much more "qualified" than you.. your lack of superficial fluff won't help you stand out and most will pass up the chance to get to know what you could bring to a potential job (relationship).

That's how I see it, anyway. If you don't have a certain amount of looks or money, you don't exist to most women. You might get lucky and get to know a really beautiful and amazing girl on a deeper level and have an opportunity to become something more because of work or friends, but most aren't going to give you the opportunity to even step up to the plate to bat (how did I go from work to baseball analogies? Lol).

There's no fucking way she doesn't have her phone in her hands right this second. Did I say something wrong?

Never goes well if you think about it too much. Just one and done, you can't worry about it anymore after that. Maybe she gets back to you later that day or the next, maybe she doesn't. Just fire off a quick text and then live your life. Ball's in her court after that.

They're going to shed more than some other breeds, particularly entering into summer and winter. It's likely that you will have to deal with there being some hair around the house, but you can likely keep it to a minimum with regular upkeep (dog brushing, vacuuming, using a swiffer type broom or duster, etc).

You pretty much have to weigh in on whether that's something you want to deal with or not, it's definitely a major con to owning pets. You do adapt to it pretty quickly though. You can always give your clothes a once or twice over with a lint brush or lint roller to remove the hair before leaving the house.

It mentions in the teen and young adult population. It's probably not good to take drugs of any kind (this includes prescription ones like SSRIs and ADHD meds) that will have a marked effect on the developing mind. Your brain isn't fully formed until 25-26 iirc, so any regular drug use before then might have a lifetime of complications.

That being said, weed isn't 100% safe or side effect free as some proponents would claim. Is it safer than most other drugs or vices? You could certainly make an argument for that.

Sometimes it's for the best that you do, for your own mental health and so that you can stop letting them drag you down and focus on getting more out of your own life than they ever will.

It's sad because you still have your mom. Hopefully you can distance yourself from the rest and still maintain a relationship with her and she'll understand your reasons and not just say "family is family" or "come on give 'em another chance" or something.

Is there a source on this?

Cuz the only folks I've heard saying it are the same sort who thinks soy turns you into a woman

The bared-teeth display, also referred to as the fear grin, or grimace, is one of the most conspicuous and well-studied facial expressions in ethology and has been reported in a variety of mammalian species from canids to primates. Research has shown, however, that the communicative function of this expression can differ quite broadly depending on the species, their type of social organization and social context. In wolves, for example, retraction of the lips horizontally over the teeth results in a submissive grin which is used by cubs and subordinates when actively greeting adult conspecifics, or humans (Fox, 1969 ).

Antithetical to this expression is a vertical lip retraction which is given by dominant animals during aggressive interactions, very similar facial movements but with vastly different social functions (Darwin, 1872 ; Fox, 1969 ).

Among primates, the function of the bared-teeth also has different meanings depending on the species and their type of social organization. Among macaques species that have despotic social systems characterized by strict, linear dominance hierarchies, i.e. rhesus monkeys, the bared-teeth display appears to be a signal of submission, or rank recognition in that it is only given by subordinates to higher ranking individuals (van Hooff, 1976 ; de Waal and Luttrell, 1985 ).

All of these are things people could have done to prevent or minimize harm, but clearly didn't do. So she didn't have it tested, didn't know what it actually was, and it was obvious laced with something more harmful than regular old LSD.

I find this advertising campaign interesting but it'll ultimately fall on deaf ears. You can tell people until you're blue in the face "Hey, be careful out there." They just think it'll never happen to them and they won't take preventative measures until it actually does (and by then it's often already too late).

Edit: Actually, I'm unsure of this now after going back and re-reading them. I'm not sure if all these people actually died because they did the opposite of what is stated here or were careless, or if they all in fact lived because they acted responsibly. Is it a warning or a demonstration? >_>

The smart man complains about unfair rules but continues playing the game.

The wise man refuses to play the game at all.

That's becoming less and less of an option nowadays though, lol. Like Bluetooth headphones, sure, just use wired. But imagine using just a flip phone or pager in the modern era (I know hospitals and other settings still use pagers, but I meant for general personal/business use).

Cara-mel but I think I get lazy if it's part of another thing. Like it might slur into car-mel if I was saying "caramel popcorn."

I think manuals are fun for say.. a weekend road trip. Day after day in a busy commute with lots of traffic? Not so much.

Also, sometimes I just want to relax and not think about too much (although still obviously focused on the road and my surroundings).

Better than them trying to tell you they did have one when they clearly didn't.

"Bitch, I didn't feel no contractions on my dick."

Lol.
