Imagine all the matter in the universe, if it didn't separate into a bunch of stars and stuff, just as soon as it could after the big bang formed itself into an all emcompasing, perfectly efficient computer brain that just spends all of time thinking of bigger and bigger numbers.

It'd work out well defined iterations and quickly get past Grahams number and TREE3 and think of some truly insanely large things. But even the number it gets to at the end of time would be 0% the way to infinity and most finite numbers would still be out of reach, basically inaccessible.

Anyway, that number at the end of time + 1

It's big, it's kinda beyond the realm of multiplying plank volumes a googolplex times etc.

Consider how many 3s are being thrown about, and that with power towers, 3^3^3^3^3 is already bigger than a googolplex...

If you've got some time, this is one of the best attempts I've seen to explain its bigness:

Yes, her idea of imploring people to listen to climate scientists cause they actually understand climate science makes perfect sense.

Its a bad voting system? When people talk about how the U.S. has a bad voting system they usually point to European countries like France & Britain as examples of superior voting systems.

I dunno whats what anymore.
Yeah, it's the First past the poll system which is very far from perfect and particularly weighted in favour of the conservatives just now, with how they got a significant 'majority' with under 44% vote share. There's more split with the central and left parties, meaning even if they get a majority between them, the conservatives can still sneak in and steal the win.

With this election it basically works out that the conservative party on average only needed 38300 votes to win a seat, while the Labour party needed 50701 to win one.

It's far worse still for the Liberal Democrats who needed 334122 votes to win a seat - they actually got 1.3 million more votes than in the last election and lost a seat as a result. And the Green party on average 864743 votes per seat.

Not really, that was a one-off collaboration. They actually cut ties with Marshmallow when he started working with chris brown because they don't support no scumbags.

British people do seem to be getting increasingly old- fashioned and stupid, but to be fair to the public a majority of people did not vote for the Brexit parties, we just have a bad voting system. Like how Trump 'won' with fewer votes.

I don't think she cares about consumers so much or the people who would find her anger too offputting - if they're dumb enough to deny climate science they're probably beyond help. She seems to go straight for the current governments, policymakers or whoever actually has the power to immediately make a change.

Also the lifetime carbon cost of a modern phone is like 80kg - about the same as driving 150-200 miles in a car or the average US household's weekly electricity use.

They're handy if you're low in anything, but maintaining a good diet is obviously much better.
Vitamin D might be a good idea though, especially in winter - it's hard to get enough of it from food.

Aspartame doesn't cause brain cancer or anything like that, but there is concern that sweeteners can disrupt intestinal bacteria, leading to an apparent increased risk of metabolic diseases, like diabetes. How digestion works isn't massively well understood though so way more science is needed to work out exactly what the risk is.

Sugar soda by comparison doesn't have the same type of risk and is not actually bad for you in sensible amounts, but it's far too easy to have in excess. More than like 250ml and you've gone too far.

TopicI've never understood why it's impossible to go faster than light*.

It's that thing with relativistic mass - as you move faster, your mass increases, and it does so in increasingly large amounts. Eventually this levels off at the speed of light, where you'd need an infinite amount of mass to be at the speed.
So anything that doesn't have zero rest mass (eg. light) can't get there.
