Thoughts: Not a bad bracket. Three 1-seeds come out alive in their respective divisions, and Spirited Away comes out victorious with a score of 8.6, more than every other movie in the tournament. The Lion King, Spider-Man and Grave of the Fireflies come very close with a score of 8.5. Had Coco beaten Spider-Man, that movie would've won the division.

On some fun notes:
1) 14-seeds are the only seed to have never won a single match in any of these kind of brackets.
2) The Little Mermaid seems to be the "weakest" movie to win a match when it comes to these scores, it's just that its opponent isn't very "strong", so to speak.
3) The IMDb ratings bracket seems least skewed towards one particular studio: Studio Ghibli, Disney, Pixar and Sony all have one movie out of a division, where as the others have more than one Pixar or Studio Ghibli film.

With a whopping 99 score on Metacritic, Pinocchio outranks the competition by a good amount, beating second-ranked Spirited Away by 3 points. Fantasia also ranks at fourth; had it gotten past Ratatouille (which won by having more reviews), the final would've had the two oldest movies in the tournament, both from 1940; "Golden Age dominance" is what I would've given to such a conclusion.

9 and 15-seeds also do very well in the tournament; three of each of them make it to the division final, and two of each get out of their division. The final itself has a 9-seed against a 15.

Detective Pikachu really needs to stay over 60%, it would finally end the whole "bad video game movie curse", at least from a Rotten Tomatoes perspective, and give the message that a video game movie can be well-received from both audiences and critics.

Because let's face it, we don't want The Power of Us to be the film that's above all video game based films. That does not give a good impression.

What's the highest-scoring video game film before this? Prince of Persia?

Rampage got a 52%. Not sure if theres anything higher than that

Not counting RE: Damnation (100% with only 5 reviews), it's a tie between Rampage and the latest Tomb Raider from what I've seen

If we're only including movies that got a theatrical release in the west, then the highest-scoring video game movie was The Power of Us, which got 60%.

It's Rampage.

The Power of Us, the Pokmon anime movie released last year, managed to get a 60% RT score on five reviews, giving that movie, not Rampage, the highest rated video-game based movie of all-time. Detective Pikachu is now beating that, and is sure to take that honor. It is quite an accomplishment.

Yo-Kai Watch: The Movie actually ranks higher, but that never got a theatrical release in the West, so I'm not gonna count that.
