point out that being a satanist at least acknowledges that god is real, compared to large companies not acknowledging that specific countries has a stranglehold on the profit potential of certain kinds of media. (Tencent for videogames. China for Hollywood movies, does have a large capacita per country mass) fact that someone would go anonymous and blab to some boss makes them look petty as hell.

also, holidays like Christmas is probably one of the most neutral-religious (yet highly commercialized) holidays that even people in countries like China/Japan celebrates it, though the latter is probably more for young children, or as a valentines day-like holiday for couples.

try to point out the lack of exposure from stuff like Kwanza or Hanukkah compared to "Atheists" celebrating Christmas/thanksgiving, outside of religions/cultures. following holidays might not have to be due to religious beliefs, Thanksgiving/Christmas are almost concurrent with each over that television, radio and even shops appears seasonal. who doesn't like stuffing their faces with food? it's basically a special occasion.

Knowing them, they're probably going to slide the goalposts to eventually consider god as "anything that originated from the UK", they'd probably give you eyes if you say any kind of Diety that's in any pantheon (Mythological Greek, Hindu, Buddhist, Norse) or to the obviously parodic like Pastafarianism.

Honestly, all this COPPA stuff just seems lopsided.

So Google has been told that children has visited deceptive videos using stolen IPs for years (which technically used non-copyrighted elements like whole episodes), yet they only react about the Elsagate phenomenon if a parent raises a stink about it on the news? one person mentioned that their kid learnt how to tie a noose (!?) from a SuperMarioLogan video, and another person said that "Splatoon" taught them how to slit their wrists, when said footage was poorly animated Steam Movie Maker video w/a green screen of Filthy Frank quoting a family guy episode.

Yet they turn buddy-buddy with the goverment the moment that money was mentioned?

my suggestions

If a channel deals in content that's particularly interesting to younger viewers such as videogames..

..said content should only be rated kid's-only if said content is under Teen.
if said video has effort put into it, not videogame-related (eg; uses real people, has overlapped voices for reviews, ect) then the video is not for kids.
if a video for a videogame that is rated for kids, but is uploaded via official channels, then it's not for kids as that would be an advertisement.
However if said video was in the form of a review, then it's Teen+
if a game is rated teen or is a mobile game, then it'll only appear to Teens.

Cartoons/Animation

if a channel has a low subscriber count, highly-concentrated rate of production or has shared elements between eachover (bright backgrounds, similar audio, and a majority of footage) then said channel is rated not for kids, but Teen and Above.
if a channel utilizes a legitimate IP, and uses elements of it within the video's title, thumbnail or in the description, then it's also teen and above, until it can be reviewed...but likely not accepted for kids.
if a channel is animated, has a somewhat similar formula, but has actual non-generated elements then not for kids, but teens. (eg, basically all storytime channels.)
if a video consists of partial/full episodes of cartoons, then it'll only be viewable by everyone (including Youtube Kids) if the channel is officially partnered with their distributors/owners. Pokemon for example would default to Tv Tokyo/ShoPro, which then trickles down to being allowed on either the official Pokemon channel, (formally) Cartoon Network, or Disney (as snippets).

3D/Live action
if it's a show that's legitimately owned by someone, delete or shift ownership. (Nick/Disney/CN)
uses an existing IP but not the owner, make it for teens.
vaguely uses an IP for jokes/parody, never for kids.
uses an IP in circumstances never utilized in-series, assume it's fake, especially if its not-officially dubbed, or it has fan-subs. (this would stamp down on unofficial cartoons. as well as autogenerated 3D)

Implement some kind of trust system, but only for the sake of recategorizing content, and never for banning. if a person labelled their video as videogame-related, and they used the highest game's rating for Youtube Gaming, raising it up would give Google a leg's up.

there's hundreds of millions of videos that's going to be lost because of the whole non-advertising/tracking kids thing. also the whole account termination thing if your account doesn't appear productive is ominous as hell.

If youtube had the ability to mitigate ownership of a video to another person's channel, that could make transferring things easier, but it would make it prone into adopting tainted content.

I am using the words Teen synonymously as people who are logged in. im assuming they're only demonitizing specific words. but also reducing/remove almost all monetization from videos if they're watched by kids....and not every cent if teens/adults watch, right? or am i expecting full adpocalypse because a parent logged in on their own acc/not in child-mode?

think the anime mostly exists as something to market the other things to people in Japan. whereas the west is probably more about the games themselves. you flick on a TV and you see pokemon of the latest generation shown off which probably gets you interested in their related media.

I mean at least they kind of tried to do their own thing in generation 3 by integrating a secondary plot with May's contests. which they continued to do in generation 4. i can't say that i was impressed with generation 5's anime thematically, Ash rotated his pokemon out too much, he barely evolved them, that and his companions wasn't really that notable, they literally had to hand Iris pokemon on a platter because Cilan probably wasn't going to do it.

Like im someone who could be described as not the primary audience. I'd probably only follow the anime just from fansites because of characters of the day, or the whole league build up. like they never even utilized Lusamine being insane or the Ultra Recon Squad in the anime, and they seemingly replaced Guzma with some sleazy land developer guy, but surprise, Guzma actually appears...for like the last 20 or so episodes. i don't even think they mentioned Necrozma's state similarly to the games.

League spoilers, im pretty sure people were theorizing what's the last Pokemon Kukui was holding (as the masked royal), since people were expecting a final evolution of the Galar starters in some capacity, similar to Blaziken) but nope, seems like they cheated out by having Tapu-Koko jumping in. according to twitter they technically forshadowed his last pokemon as a Pelipper in earlier episodes.

character limit. but adding to that. Animal Crossing was pushed back for polishing. and we still haven't heard of anything about Metroid Prime 4 or Bayonetta 3 yet. though the latter would probably be Nintendo in publishing, but probably won't have the polish of say, a Mario game. Pokemon as a franchise would probably have to do massive things to stand out against it's other contemporaries.

Star Allies wasn't expected to win awards, but the game sold extremely well, that the Kirby series is still chugging along. though i'd probably be a hypocrite to comment on games that i havn't played when im comparing the seemingly reduced amount of content/premise for a game like Fire Emblem Warriors, compared to Hyrule Warriors. (eventhough the latter game technically had slotted free DLC from the Wii U release, the additional DLC+content changes from the 3DS Legends release, and it's own Switch exclusive content) which technically is more newcomer friendly compared to the FE series.

Also forgot about FEW, probably slot that as a year 1 release.

EDIT: I haven't pre-ordered it. but mostly from apathicness towards the Pokemon series. but also that i already have too much backlog. it's not like Pokemon SWSH would suffer from less copies floating about, than something like Octopath Traveller.

Critics are kind of pressured into giving games high rankings, espcially if they're major nintendo releases. Pokemon, Zelda and Mario is all that they have, thus would be more noticable for them to score rankings. whereas spinoffs and third versions might not get as much of a major hit since they can just pull the whole "its the same" card.

The major thing is that the Pokemon series had been progressively starting to bubble over as far back as X/Y, where people expected that the lack of an aftergame was mostly because they were planning a Z. ORAS came out with the obligatory mode change (added to Hoopa) for the sake of movie merchandising....Z never came. other aspects like the Anime got reviled just because of Greninja losing to Charizard at the league., with any elements introduced to SM like Ash!Greninja, Magearna and Zygarde originally having anime ties in the previous generation.

SM only kind of suffered from railroading, but at least had some characters be more interesting compared to previous characters. (come on, Lusamine/Gladion/Lillie were arguably more interesting than Lysandre/Diantha. but probably not as interesting as Ghetsis/N). USUM probably had their major complaints being that the few new additions to the base game they done was kind of minor in the grand scheme of things, as well as dulling down motivations for Lusamine just to make the Ultra Recon Squad/Necrozma plot work.

Critically. BOTW was one of the more well-selling Zelda titles and did big things for the series. and Mario Odyssey returned to the 3D games roots after years of relying on New Super Mario Bros or doing Mario 3D Land/World-style games. retroactively, even Luigi's Mansion 3 apexed well in the effort department from setting, audio and espcially graphics.

Like you look at the big titles of year 1 of Switch like...

BOTW
Splatoon 2
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (technically a port)
Super Mario Odyssey
Xenoblade Chronicles 2

then you look at year 2 like

Kirby Star Allies
Mario Party
Mario Tennis
Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee
Super Smash Bros Ultimate.

year 3 had

Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Luigi's Mansion 3
Mario Maker 2
Zelda: Link's Awakening.

of the oddballs, you have..
1-2-Switch (year one. pretty much a tech demo with a neutral IP, with little content...Warioware Switched please!?)
ARMS (Year 1. ambitious IP, kind of fell flat, at least it sold more than...)
Yoshi's Crafted World (Year 2. got held back like twice. was anticipated to be the more Artsy game, compared to Star Allies)
Town (Year 3. no one even knew Game Freak was the developers until people heard more outside of it than Nintendo Direct's sizzle reel. a significant amount of the team was dispatched to work on it, possibly in tandem with LGPE)
Nintendo LABO (year 2)
Ring Fit Adventure (year 3)

It's even worse when you have to consider that they only planned for generation 8 to last 2~ years due to datamined species slots for event legends, so are we going to expect that they're going to leave a gap year to add content? nah, they'll probably do a DP remake, then a 3rd SWSH game to pad the gap. unless they do another new Ultra Beast/Zeraora-type situation to allieviate Movie fatigue.

Like pokemon already kind of had a low barrier for success since it sells like hotcakes. but surely having 2-3 years work could have at least have the gameplay feel more sleek and dynamic. the dex is a small thing, but you'd think the omissions could have resulted in a far superior product at least. i mean i could get why they got rid of hordes/triples in gen 7 due to the 3DS' aging hardware, but you could've left that in by removing seeing 2/3~ trainers on screen at once and battle royales.

speaking of which, Raid battles has 4 trainers+pokemon, and 1 (or 2, 1 is yours) dynamaxed at once.

I just thought the problem is that as a product, i guess the Pokemon aspect was there, with the creatures, but the characters wasn't huge. guess i could see why they went with Masters since it takes the human characters throughout the game series and have them interact. even if the pokemon they use are limited to 1 (besides Brock in his alt suit)

the worst thing about it is that Nintendo basically forced them to go ahead with things since ORAS, probably to keep sales up for the 3DS and to tide people over the the Switch.

2016 comes around the corner, Gamefreak are told to make content faster. Hoopa gets its unbound form, as well as Diancie getting a Mega Stone in the game. when it becomes evident that generation 6 was waning, they did a stunt by pairing Volcanion with Magearna to tease generation 7. keeping in mind that Volcanion already had NPC lore text within XY which could have been something entirely different in lore.

Generation 7 starts to build up. Gamefreak are told to produce a new generation, possibly to cater to the 20th anniversery of the series. possibly due to interest in generation 6 waning in ratings (for the anime), sequestering Ash!Greninja, Meagearna and Zygarde 10%/Complete to SM.

NX starts to get to a near-finished state, now called the Switch. 2017 comes, USUM comes out, instead of stretching those games for at least 2~ years, they only code in 1 new legendary (Zeraora) and even then, it was just to keep up appearances/expected bonuses, it appeared in the 21st movie but it didn't get a Z-crystal whereas other Pokemon like the box legends, Necrozma, Mimikyu and Komm-o did.

Early 2018, they tease a new Pokemon generation....it was LGPE. they also released Pokemon Quest (where it quickly died off). E3 2018, they reveal Town but doesn't mention who's making the game. LGPE comes out to alright reception (?). 2019, Pokemon Sword/Shield comes out.

Think the major problem is that spinoffs probably became financially risky for them, since Nintendo expected main games to come out on the 3DS. which could be the reason why stuff like Picross, Rumble Blast and Battle Link was a thing. they probably unthawed Detective Pikachu because of the deal they scored with WB for the live-action adaptation. Niantic's success with GO might have been the thing that caused GF to branch into the mobile market, but not actually going forward with new age MyNintendo except from Rumble World onwards. Shuffle was probably a dual-system experiment w/mobile.

With that said about mobile. was Pokemon Duel even that popular? i don't see people bringing up the game itself nor its characters. was strategic games less of a draw in japan, compared to games that might have an infinite amount of cast members? Duel could have content as far as generation 7, but hundreds of pokemon wouldn't make much sense in a gacha-figure system, compared to stuff like FEH or FFBE which has hundreds of characters (and for the former, Variants) which you can level up, improve, equip (infuse abilities, for FEH). lootbox laws probably made it look financially unviable. the tencent deal must be strong if they jettisoned a PVP-enabled version of Quest for China.

If you think SWSH is bad just from the loss of gameplay features, and the lack of a graphical jump/polish, compared to other games (like BOTW and Odyssey), i'll fear how they'll take criticism/lack of sales for Detective Pikachu's switch sequel.

I think the problem with Pokemon was the inherent multiplicative amount of assets they'd have to design with each generation. generations 1 and 2 pretty much shared the same engine, and minor improvements like bag sorting were included, whilst also smoothing down the edges like having a short sentence on what a move does. whilst including things like genders/hold items for the actual battling mechanics.

Generation 3 jumped up a little, yes, higher amounts of color was expected, though the limitations on soundfonts came to head with (the memetic) trumpets. graphicswise they even managed to cut corners slightly with emerald by having 2 sprites for each Pokemon, only with stretching and turning sprites to give a sense of movement. but when you look at the backsprite for something, say, a Charizard, all that it has is a higher pixelcount from it's generation 2 counterpart, just with a higher pixel count with the ability to discern shadows and more view of its body.

They kept the Pokemon's sprites moderately improved with each generation, if just from the back. again, the Charizard angle, they actually reused its Platinum sprite for its BWBW2 sprites, what i also didn't mention is that they went from depicting the same Pokemon differently between each pair of games since generation 3-onwards. BWBW2 also introduced constantly moving static animations that gave Pokemon personality, but also context-sensitive sprite changes like whenever it falls asleep.

Couple all this with content-sensitive things like followable Pokemon, or Pokemon-amie. they'd have to create new sprites (animations) just to make some Pokemon work. from Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee and the generation 7 games, they really should have been content-ready for whatever platform they're going for. (if Pikipek's wireframe meant anything).

Battlingwise, despite it's ups and downs (in competitive), it does what it's supposed to do. graphicswise, they seem to keep trying to make the trainers more important by forcing their constant appearance in battles themselves, which arguably bogged down Sun/Moon. they got rid of horde battles as well as triples. now the only ways of training a Pokemon's EVs (not via fighting) was probably the island. (which they'd probably thought of just to integrate berry growth, as well as give a new use to the slightly-updated Party minispries).

When people question what feature will be removed next, and you think "the Pokemon", you should be pretty worried...which is probably a dangerous slippy slide, assuming the rumor/leak that the new gameplay mechanic is supposedly Camping. maybe to replace Pokepelago/Pokemon-amie/Refresh?

Storywise, i don't think Pokemon even had that many great characters, since all you had at the time in earlier generations were sprites and their actions/words. Generation 4 at least gave Cynthia a leitmotif and had her much more involved than Steven (though he was already liked). Generation 5 was probably the most mature since it went past "being a master" with the inevitable fruitlessness for Cheren's search for power or Bianca just leaving home, and N was slightly enigmatic for a rival but his neutrality made Ghetsis' impact much more great.

they attempted to do that in gen 6, but the friends didn't do much. Diantha is a severe downgrade but is marginally better than Alder due to the fact you'll fight her at least once before the endgame. Gen 7 gave actual depth with Gladion/Lusamine/Lillie, though Hau just seems to happy go lucky. Pokemon should push for more quality of life for later games in the series, whilst getting a thematic identity per generation, so it doesn't boil down wholly by what their mechanics were at the time.

Nintendo doesn't seem to be the type who would remaster games just because, unless there were an actual technilogical need for it, if not that, then something to smooth the corners. like i would've said that something like Twilight Princess would've made sense to port for the Wii U since it was pretty big on Wii, though the Wii U itself could play Wii discs natively.

Either that, or Nintendo tends to remake games primarily to either recoup sales or to promote the technology. like the Metroid Prime Trilogy was an extreme boon since the games themselves collectively were rated pretty highly, but it also promoted the waggle of the Wiimote. whereas there were gamecube games that were released as budget titles/up-ports like Pikmin or Mario Tennis. Mario All-Stars anniversery release was extremely lazy considering the actual size of the game, with most of the actual celebration being the printed material that came with it. Also, the compilation came out pretty late, chances are people already own a few of Mario's games from the VC anyway, barring the graphics/sound quality, the games were 1:1 with their NES counterparts.

Kirby on the other hand, the series was spread pretty wide as far as console reprentation goes. Kirby's collection even had a few gameboy games on there (unheard of, in terms of Wii's Virtual Console), a challenge mode (in Return to Dreamland's engine) and even a few episodes of the anime. a far more larger celebration of the franchise history, when compared to Mario All-Stars. kind of surprised there wasn't Tilt 'N Tumble, though it'd probably be hard for a VC emulator to run natively ontop of a model that tilts alongside the Wii controller.

Zelda? it has a weird mix between not as big (compared to it's popularity in Europe/America) in Japan, but not as much as a priority for ports since they're usually technically sound. individual games might get HD ports, but it's going to be a farcry from something like either remakes or reimaginings of the first 2 games. even now they're going in a strange direction with Link's Awakening.

Die hard fans of Zelda in Japan would probably definitely buy games when they come out. making a collection on a single cart just seems like a way to put all their eggs in one basket, rather than just doing one game at a time. the existance of the Virtual Console makes it a hard bargain, unless there's a large hook involved to spring for the remake/ports.

Next games they should do would be Oracles, and maybe another Four Swords-type game...with Adventures tacked on as a party game? heck, maybe even Navi/Tetra Trackers if they can figure out a replacement for the GBA stuff, other than having 4 Switches set up locally.

from the look of that picture, im surprised they did full sets, and on DVD (?) to boot! i mean a season must be around 50 episodes each, and around 15-20~ minutes an episode, that'd be like 16.6 hours a disc (at the 20-min an ep range). i mean sure, the episodes might be at a lower resolution, but i can't imagine it'd be small in filesize for DVD's of the early 2000's. unless they're reprinted Blu-rays or something?

I'm guessing some of the larger boxes are just multiple discs, pictures of the insides? might give an approximate ep count per disc. (assuming they're not using hinges for earlier ones). also, earlier sets, do they enforce anything like episode ordering (production, vs broadcast) or omit episodes by later-year TPCi. (The Pokemon Company International/4Kids. mostly any episodes with Jynx in it?)

All i can think, is waifus, and why are they your waifus. (more like characters of the day not based on characters from the games)
