A lot of times that I play peaceful I end up getting wrecked by an exterminator or something. The best way to maintain peace when you want to be peaceful is to have a military nobody wants to mess with. Make sure you have secured borders. Starbases focused on defense in chokepoints can be life savers. Just dont neglect it. I never really had vassals so I dont know about them. --- Quit Crying |

Once you get to the point you dont need all those science ships you can start using them to assist research on your planets that do research. For the anomalies that take a long time I will usually wait to do them unless its a system that isnt going to be inside my zone of control or if it has a planet I really want to colonize. --- Quit Crying |

Depends on your government ethics and what kind of gameplan you have in mind. If you are peaceful, xenophile type and can get migration treaties you might find a species that has high habitability there and can grow those pops on there it will work out. Or if you are an enslaver you could do the same thing. Or if you are into robot pops, they have 100% habitability everywhere but cant do much good besides harvesting energy and minerals.
